Kali and Lucky's London Adventure

Chapter 5

"Junior deputy test?" Lucky was talking with Thunderbolt while Kali (still in cat form) slogged behind them, trying to get used to her new body. 

"Whoa!" She soon tripped, her face landing in the dirt. Walking around on four legs was a lot more difficult than she thought. 

"You okay back there, Kali?" Lucky asked. 

Kali groaned in response "I'll never understand how cats do this?" while the tomboy suddenly had the urge to lick her fur. 

Kali continued hobbling along while Lucky talked with Thunderbolt. Kali soon figured out Thunderbolt was worried about losing his job cause he believed he was gonna get killed off the show. But this left Kali a little confused, thinking where would the dog star get a crazy idea like that? She didn't tell Lucky though, knowing that Thunderbolt was just an actor and that TV was all pretend, the adventurous puppy wouldn't understand.

The adventure girl continued grousing to herself, hating her cat form. "I swear if Cynthia saw me like this right now I think I'd plotz" she deadpanned. 

"Kali!? Is that you!?" she then heard a familiar voice. 

"And I spoke too soon" Kali's eyebrows narrowed before she turned around to see her friend Cynthia. 

Cynthia chuckled seeing her friend as a cat, she loved cats. Cynthia could also talk to animals, like Kali and her family. 

"What are you doing here? And why are you a cat?" Cynthia asked, with a little laugh.

"I don't see how that's any of your concern" Kali replied before asking Cynthia what she was doing here. 

"My family and I are here on vacation, visiting the art museums" Cynthia proclaimed while twirling around, showing off her pink fluffy scarf. 

"Well that's nice, really. Now if you'll excuse me, I got important work to do" The tomboy told her fashionista friend.  

"Of course. But before I go..." Cynthia pulled out her cellphone and took a picture of Kali as a cat, quickly posting it on her media page, then ran off. 

"Argh! I'll get you for that!" Kali yelled out to Cynthia, shaking her tiny cat fist.

Kali then came back over to Lucky and Thunderbolt, hearing the wonder dog say that Lucky could be on the show with him if Lucky passed a junior deputy test. Soon a horse pulling a stagecoach with a newly wed couple passed by the dogs and cat. 

"Mother of pasteurized milk! That stagecoach is out of control!" Thunderbolt said in alarm. 

Kali just groaned to herself, knowing this was gonna end badly. 

"This is your first junior deputy test kid" Thunderbolt told Lucky, giving the pup a thought on an episode that would help out in this situation. 

"Okay. Well, this is just like episode 37 "Stagecoaches of Serpent Summit" Lucky said. 

"Very good" Thunderbolt told Lucky before asking "Now episode 37, was that the one where I leap, run, and pounce?"

"No, no! That was the one where you run, pounce, and leap!" Lucky told his idol. 

"Precisely, stand back!" Thunderbolt took off while Kali sighed. "Oh, boy"

Thunderbolt chased after the stagecoach and soon jumped on the horse telling him. "Get a hold of yourself man. YOU'RE OUT OF CONTROL!" 

The horse took off frightened while the wedded couple panicked. 

"It's okay! I'll get the brake!" Thunderbolt said. 

The wonder dog then quickly pulled the brakes, having the coach come to a sudden stop, but sending the couple plunging into the lake. Thunderbolt then did his trademark bark, waiting for the photographers to take his picture, but none showed up. 

"Still no photographers... How odd" he said while Kali face-pawed. 

"This was going to be a long day" she thought. 

Kali went along with the whole unwittingly process helping Lucky and Thunderbolt through all kinds of heroism attempts, even though she found this totally unnecessary. Instead they were turning everything into chaos everywhere they went in London. 

Meanwhile Cruella Devil was having Lars make spotted paintings to soothe her fixation, however none of the paintings seemed to impress the relentless woman. Also Kali tried working out her crystal again, resulting in her turning into all kinds of wacky animals every few seconds, but then back into a calico cat. With Kali being a cat though came in handy for Thunderbolt's demonstrations, although it did cause more trouble for them than helping. 

Kali, Lucky, and Thunderbolt soon came by the zoo, before Thunderbolt stopped them at a corner. 

"What is it?" Lucky asked. 

The three of them then looked around the corner to see some zookeepers bring the monkeys out of their cages and put them on leashes. 

"Looks like we've stumbled on a band of cattle wrestlers" Thunderbolt said. 

Kali groaned "They're monkeys!" 

"Even worse, monkey wrestlers!" Thunderbolt declared. 

Kali groaned again, feeling like she wanted to hit herself with a frying pan to knock herself out of this stupidity. 

"Sounds like episode 34 to me" Lucky replied. 

"Right answer once again... junior deputy" Thunderbolt told Lucky. 

"I passed the test!" Lucky said, getting excited while wagging his tail. 

"Think you guys can handle it?" Thunderbolt asked Lucky and Kali. 

"Sure, by all means" Kali sighed. 

"Lets get those monkey wrestlers!" Lucky added, ready for action. 

Lucky and Thunderbolt soon set to work with Kali joining them, scaring the monkeys off out of the zoo. Thunderbolt did his famous bark. Lucky tried his best to copy him but his bark still came out as squeaks. 

Later, the three of them were chased out of a restaurant, riding on a food cart and into the middle of the street, nearly getting hit by a car. 

"Hey get over on the right side of the road buddy!" Thunderbolt yelled, as they headed into the park. 

"Sheesh! London drivers" He said, getting off the food cart while Kali and Lucky came out from under a food dish, eating a plate of hotdogs. 

"This is the best day ever!" Lucky beamed while eating some hotdogs. 

"Argh, how am I suppose to use these things?!" Kali hissed as she was struggling to pick up a hotdog with her paws, forgetting that she wasn't in her human body anymore.

"I never knew it would be so much fun out here doing this real hero stuff" Thunderbolt stated. 

"What do you mean?" Lucky asked his idol. "Don't you do this all the time?"

Thunderbolt suddenly stopped chewing on his hotdog, realizing what he just said. 

"Better think of something fast" Kali whispered to the TV star dog. 

Thunderbolt then finished his hotdog, sucking it up in one bite before answering Lucky's question. 

"Oh, well, kid, uh... Well you know" Thunderbolt started, chuckling nervously. 

"Of course I do! I do this all the time" He answered with a unrestrained laugh. 

Lucky didn't seem so sure though.

"So lets talk about you kids" Thunderbolt quickly changed the subject. 

"Us?" Kali asked. 

"Yeah, what's your story?" Thunderbolt asked them. 

"Well uh..." Lucky started. 

"Hold on," Thunderbolt stopped him for a minute before grabbing the rest of the string of hotdogs in his mouth. 

"Okay, go on" He said.
