He stopped and admired his work.

"Perfect. Now, I'm going to take the gag off, but if you talk when I have not given you permission, you will regret it." She only glared at him with the ice her eyes had turned into. He raised his hands and took the gag off. She said nothing.

"Will you smile for me?" he asked. She glared.

"I said smile!" she jumped, but then looked back up at him and stretched her lips to form a smile.

"You're much prettier this way." Her stomach growled. He glared at it, then looked up at her. He smiled.

"You're hungry. Want to go out and eat?" She parted her lips to speak, but quickly closed them. He hadn't given her permission. He smiled.

"You may speak."

"I would love to go out and eat with you."

"I'm so glad. Your voice is so pretty."

"Thank you."

"Let's go out." He pulled a silver key from around his neck and put it in the lock on the iron handcuffs behind her back. They opened with a click and Nona immediatly removed her arms and started rubbing them. He grabbed her arms quickly and pulled her up and out to his van.

The hostess smiled at the customers. "How many in your party?"

"Just me and my daughter." Her eyes traveled between the two. The girl's hair was red and his was brown. They looked nothing alike.

"Right this way," she led them to a booth near the front of the restauraunt. A waitress walked over soon after the hostess left.

"What can I get you to drink?" She looked at the male first before looking at the girl.

"We'll both have a water," he answered.

"Be right out," she smiled, "I love your hair," she said to the girl.

"Thank you," the male replied. The waitress smiled at them one more time before walking away to get the drinks.

She nudged her way over to another waitress.

"See that man and the girl with red hair at six?" Her friend took a quick glance behind her.

"Yeah."

"He has, like, a daughter complex. I complemented her hair and he said thanks."

"That's weird."

"Yeah. It was."

"Did you hear about that missing girl?"

"No."

"It's on the T.V now."

"How long has she been gone?"

"About a day. She has a weird birth mark on her neck. It's in the shape of a heart."

"Really? I would love that. It's like a tattoo from birth and the ink never fades."

The waitress grabbed the drinks and walked them back to the table.

"Did you decide on what you want to eat tonight or do you need more time?"

"We'll have salmon with some broccoli."

"Be right up," she said glancing at the girl. Her eyes wandered down to a brown spot on her neck. It was a heart. She smiled at the man then walked back to the back.

"Staci, what was that girl's name that went missing?"

"Lanona Davis, why?"

"I think I just found her."

--------------------------------------------------------

Detective Brewer rubbed his forehead. They were running low on time. She had to be somewhere! Someone had to have seen her.

"Detective, we've got her. A waitress called in saying that a girl with a heart shaped birth mark was there. She's keeping them there."

"Where?"

"Jack's."

"Let's go."

Finally, they had the break they were waiting for.

-----------------------------------------------------

The waitress was taking forever to bring the food back. She said something was wrong with the grill, then it got fixed and then there was something wrong with the fish. It really didn't make much sense.

He glanced at the table next to him as the waitress brought out their food. It was fish. His eyes followed up to the door as several cops came in. The waitress that served him ran up to them and looked directly at him. He rose from his seat and quickly grabbed the girl and grabbed the knife. Everyone's eyes were locked on him as well as the cops guns. Nona didn't even squirm, but only looked horrified.

"You shoot, she dies and we wouldn't want that," he smiled.

"Put the knife down," Detective Brewer yelled.

"Kay. I'll put it down." He took the knife and stabbed it deep into Nona's abdomin. Red blood stained her white dress. Her mouth opened and she crumbled to the ground. The cops shot him and then ran over to the red haired girl on the floor. She rembered seeing a detective and hearing him tell her to stay awake and then the darkness consumed her.
