The room smelled like dog crap and glade mixed together and it made me want to vomit.

How could animals smell this all day everyday? "Sorry about the smell, it's cleaning day." The lady said as she opened up the door.

Right as the creak of the door escaped into the concrete aisle, many dogs started to howl and bark and yelp.

It was like prisoners sticking their arms out of the bars, trying to get my attention.

Some dogs were sleeping in the corner, many with red flags on them.

"This is a non-kill shelter. The red flags mean either their family has reserved them and on their way, or they are pending an adoption." She said, her clipboard presently in her bony hands.

I looked up and down the aisle with Tal and Anthony with ne. Adi and Michael decided to go see the other animals.

They had a lot here. Rodents, Horses, Cats, and many other rescue animals.

Tal pointed to a big pitbull who sat on a cushion with a bow on its head.

"What a sweetie!" I said, the short dog running up to lick my fingers that I stuck through the chainlink fence.

"Caramel is sadly not for adoption, she has anxiety problems we're working with." She said, and I frowned. Every dog I liked was reserved.

I approached a cage that looked like it had nothing in it. "Who's this?" I said, a smaller chocolate lab perking its head up.

It looked so depressed, it's eyes drooping once again and it got up slowly to come up to me.

There was another dog in there with her, but I wasn't very interested.

"That's Betty. Her family left her here after they left. She has been here for 1 month. She's 11 months old.

I sent a picture to Michael who was probably trying to pet a rabbit about now.
