longass chapter
also god bless steve aoki ohmy goodidd mic drop remix is so goodThe boy let out a hiccup, a sound that was lost in the noise of drunken chattering, laughing, and obnoxious yelling in the surprisingly lively bar. He held up a slender finger, grinning drunkenly at the bartender who regarded him warily. "One more...my good dude..."
The bartended tsked, obviously disappointed. "Kid-"
"Ay, ay ay!" Slurred the 'kid' as he pointed unnecessarily at the poor bartender, "I'm not kid! I'm 21, see?!" He dug into his pockets, shoving the ID into the bartender's- Lee Hongbin-
face. "I jus' look young...like a baby..."Hongbin rolled his eyes and scoffed, but poured another glass of Jack Daniel's for the boy anyways. He slid it towards the younger, who grabbed it and happily sipped. Hongbin studied the boy.
"Well, Taehyung, you sure don't look 21." Taehyung shrugged.
"Baby face! And baby cheeks!" He squished his own cheeks as if trying to prove a point. Hongbin rolled his eyes and sighed.
"Yeah, ok. Sure, kid." Hongbin looked around to make sure nobody was looking and leaned forward. "I know you're, like, 16. You shouldn't be drinking...how much did you drink? Nearly a whole freakin bottle of my Jack Daniel's!"
Taehyung, who had been looking around the bar through his emptied glass as if it were a monocule, gasped. His eyes widened. "Shhh! Don't tell anyone, ookaay? Also, I'm..." He counted with his fingrrs. "17!"
Hongbin sighed and confiscated the glass despite Taehyung's protests ("Hey! That's my magnifying glass!") and began cleaning it. "Whatever. Fine. But no more drinking. You're wasted and underage."
Taehyung pouted. "Fine..." Taehyung, empty handed now, looked around the bar somewhat happily despite the circumstances that brought him to his hometown.
He missed Daegu. It was somewhat quite a ways from Seoul, which prevented him from coming back to visit most of the time after his parents moved due to a better job offer in the bigger city.
He'd been with his friend for most of the week, until he decided to come back to his home on the current day. In his drunken state, as he put his fake ID he got through pulling a few strings in case of emergencies in his pocket, he could only vaguely recall what made him board the bus to Daegu at 10 pm. He remembered crying, puffy and unattractive, pitiful red eyes and a desperate need for a tissue, which a stranger kindly (or irritably) gave him on the bus. Something about Jungkook, most definitely, but there had to be more, because he must have had some major feelings to break out his emergency fake ID card and be sitting in a bar in Daegu at 2:47 a.m, drunk and underage.
Drunk Taehyung left the hopeless and depressing thoughts behind, the broken heart and broken feelings in the mere past of only an hour ago. And that's exactly why Sober Taehyung, even if the alcohol tasted worse than gasoline and burned his throat, came to the bar in the first place- to forget his troubles, the world, his heart, aching and longing for Jeon Jungkook, even if it was temporarily.
Taehyung felt a presence next to him. He looked to find a middle aged man with neatly combed hair sitting next to him. His smile was like honey- sweet, slow, it could trap prey easily. And that's what Taehyung was- prey.
"Bartender- two drinks please." He flashed a charming smile to an unamused Hongbin.
"He's not drinking anymore." The man chuckled.
