Chapter 1

~Rose's POV~

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing.
"Devyn why are you calling me this early?" I whined as I answered.
"Let me in! I'm outside. I'm helping you get dressed. You get to meet the boys today."
I got up out of bed and walked to the front door. Devyn jumped on me and hugged me.
"Go in my room and pick out an outfit for me. I need to take a shower." I told Devyn as she giggled and ran into my room.

I showered and then wrapped a towel around myself and went into my room. Devyn turned around as I changed. Once I got dressed I put my hair into a bun.
"COME ON LET'S GO!!!!" Devyn yelled as she grabbed my hand.
"I NEED TO DO MAKEUP!"
"GIRL YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL WITHOUT IT!"
"WHY ARE WE YELLING?!"
"I honestly don't know." Devyn started laughing as we got in the car.
She drove while we sang along to old Disney music. I started thinking.
I'm so glad she is happy in a relationship. She deserves it more than anyone in this world. She's been hurt more than anyone. Corey is getting a good talking to today cause if he hurts my Devyn I'll have to kick his ass. I just wish i could find someone. Someone who won't cheat on me or hit me.. Someone who will bring me up instead of push me down. Someone who will ll love me for me.. Someone who will......

"EARTH TO ROSE!" Devyn screamed pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Where are we?!" I asked, shocked by the huge, beautiful mansion in front of me.
"My home! I live with Corey and the guys. Let's head inside." Devyn said as she got out.
I got out and walked inside behind Devyn. My jaw dropped to the floor. This place is beautiful.
"You're gonna catch flies. Do you want me to show you around?" Someone asked.
"This is my boyfriend Corey." Devyn had the brightest smile on her face.
"Corey let's have a talk. Now Devyn here is my best friend in the world. She means everything to me. If you hurt her, I'll kick your ass. Trust me. I may be small but i am mighty." I said, trying to intimidate him but knowing it wasn't working.
"Okay okay. Calm down." He laughed.
We walked into the kitchen.
"Who's the girl?" Someone asked.
"Oh Elton this is Devyn's best friend Rose." Corey introduced us.
"Hello! I'm uncle elton," He smiled and shook my hand, "Wanna help me prank someone?"
"Sure! I love pulling pranks on people." I smiled.
"She is gonna fit in well." Elton chuckled.
Elton pulled me into the garage. We sat down and discussed how to prank Corey. Elton texted Devyn and she came in. The three of us snuck outside. Elton has a universal remote. Corey was inside playing video games. My job was to watch him and everytime he was about to score I tapped Elton's shoulder and he would turn off Corey's game console. We did this for maybe 30 minutes before Corey started getting really mad and almost threw his controller at the TV. Devyn ran inside and tried to calm him down. Elton and i slowly walked inside.
"Elton, why do you have a camera in your hands?" Corey asked.
"Cause we just pranked the shit out of you." I said as I highfived Elton.
"Okay who is this new chick in the house and why haven't i met her before?" I heard a deep voice ask.
I turned around to look at him and my world went quiet. This guy is gorgeous. He's got the most lovely brown hair. His eyes. The purest blue I have ever seen. Love at first sight is a thing right?
"Earth to Rose!" Devyn yelled.
"Yeah?" I said, trying to recover from the fact that i was just staring at the guy.
"This is Sam." She introduced me to a guy with blonde hair.
"Hi! I'm Rose." I smiled and shook his hand.
"I'm Sam. Nice to meet you. My girlfriend is coming over later so you'll get to meet her." He said.
"And this is Colby." Devyn finally introduced me to the gorgeous brown haired boy.
"Hi Rose." He smiled.
"H..hi Colby." I smiled back.
"ROSE COME HERE NOW." Devyn yelled from upstairs. I ran up to her and she pulled me into her and Corey's room.
"Colby is single you know." She smirked.
"Devyn, look at him. He is absolutely gorgeous. There's no way at all that he would ever go for me.." I hung my head down.
"No no. My best friend never puts her head down. You keep that chin high up in the sky. I already talked to your mom and Elton. There's an extra room here and a truck outside filled with all of your things. Don't get mad at me, but i had to tell Elton why i wanted you out of that house. I told him about your brother.." Devyn told me.
I fell on the ground crying, "Thank you Devyn. Thank you.."
She held me as I cried. I finally felt free. I couldn't believe I was free of my brother.
After I stopped crying i ran downstairs and gave Elton a huge hug, "Thank you. So much."
"It's no problem. I will tell you your room is right next to Colby's room. You guys share a bathroom."
I walked over to Colby and looked up at him, "Hi there. Im your new roommate."
His eyes lit up, "Well then i get to see the most beautiful girl in the world everyday."
He winked at me and walked up to his room.
I spent my night unpacking my room with Devyn and Elton. As we were unpacking i was telling Elton more about myself and my brother and mother. I felt so good talking to someone about it.
"Finally done!" Elton smiled.
"Thank you so much again." I said and hugged Elton.
"You're part of my family now. I got you."
"I love you Uncle Elton."
"Love you too kid. Now you need sleep. Goodnight." He smiled and walked out.
"Goodnight baby girl. I love you and i hope you feel good in your new home." Devyn smiled.
"I do. I promise. I love you too." I hugged her.
She closed the door as she left.
I can not believe i am finally away from that bastard. I'm so happy. I get to live with my best friend and a cute boy is right across the hall from me. I can't believe this is my life now.
I laid in bed watching my new roommate's YouTube videos. I feel like i know them a lot better now. Around 3:30 i finally fell asleep.
