Chapter 3

*Rose's POV*
I woke up to someone coming into my room.
"Who is it?" I asked as i jumped and curled into a ball, almost crying.
"It's me, Colby. Why did you get so scared?" He sat down next to me.
"Oh no reason.. I just. Im really jumpy in the mornings." I stumbled over my words as i sat up.
"Oh?" He raised his eyebrow.
"Colby. I'll explain another day. Not today. Please.."
"Talk to me about it whenever you feel comfortable. I dont want to force you. Get dressed beautiful. You and I are going to lunch with my friend Brennen. I want you to meet him." He kissed my forehead and walked out.
I smiled softly and got dressed. (Outfit pictured above.) I put my hair in a messy bun and walked downstairs. I didn't bother doing makeup.
"No makeup again today? Does someone here make you feel beautiful without it?" Devyn ran over to me.
"Sssshhhhh he could be anywhere! He could even be ri.." I stopped as Devyn's face dropped and then she started laughing.
"Who could be anywhere?" I heard Colby's voice.
"Oh um no one. Lets get going to lunch." I felt my cheeks turn cherry red as i walked outside.
Colby followed, "The red car is mine."
I got in his car and when we sat down he smiled at me.
"What?" I smiled softly as my cheeks became even more red.
"You are so adorable when you blush." He said as he turned music on and started driving. He drove us to Tender Greens. I saw a guy jump out of a white truck and run over, basically tackling Colby to the ground. I started laughing as i realized it was Brennen Taylor. I remember him from Vine too.
"Hi Brennen." I smiled.
"Well well well hello there. You are stunning." He smiled.
"Thank you." I kinda smiled cause I saw Colby's face drop.
"Let's go inside." Colby stated.
We walked inside and got our food. I sat next to Colby at the table.
"So guys, this is the new roomate they have over at the Trap House. Say hi to the vlog Rose!" Brennen said as he turned his camera towards me.
"Hey guys!" I smiled as I held onto Colby's arm.
"HEY GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF MY BOYFRIEND." Brennen screamed.
"DUDE OKAY IM SORRY. ILL JUST LEAVE. CLEARLY IM NOT WANTED HERE ANYMORE." I yelled at the camera and walked out of the Tender Greens and waited at Colby's car.
A few minutes passed and they came outside laughing their asses off.
"Rose, that was perfect. You are amazing." Brennen laughed.
"Rose why are you so perfect?" Colby smiled and i felt my cheeks get red.
"I love doing stuff like that." I smiled brightly.
"Do you wanna play the Ouija Board with us tonight? We're doing it at the suicide bridge." Colby asked.
"I've never played the Ouija board before.." I said hesitantly.
"You got this. Plus if you get scared im sure good old Colby over here wouldn't mind if you cuddled up to him." Brennen winked at Colby and Colby's face got red.
"I mean he's not wrong." Colby smiled at me.
"Okay. I'll play. I want to go home and get a sweatshirt first." I said.
"That's fine babe. We're all gonna chill at the house anyway till it is time to go." Colby said.
Colby and I got in his car and Brennen followed behind us to the house. We parked and before we went inside i fixed my hair and my shirt lifted up a little bit and there was a bruise on my side from the last time my brother hit me. Colby saw it and when Brennen went inside he ran over to me.
"Rose what happened to your side??" Colby asked.
"Oh um.. I fell the other day?" I looked at him, knowing he would be able to tell I'm lying.
"Come to my room to talk. We still have like 4 hours till we leave for the suicide bridge." He took my hand and we went upstairs.
I quickly texted devyn and told her i was telling Colby about my brother.
"So um..uh.. Do you wanna know what happened?.." I asked quietly.
"Yes.." He said.
"Well um.. See i have an older brother and um he kinda gets really drunk and beats me up a lot. One time he gave me a black eye from smacking me. And he hits me because my dad left not too long after i was born and they were really close and he hates me. The reason i got so scared when you randomly came into my room is because my brother used to come in randomly and hit me and beat me so i jumped cause i forgot for a second that i don't live there anymore. I'm sorry I've been ranting i just rarely ever talk about this and ny depression has been so bad due to him and.." I trailed off as i started crying.
Colby pulled me down onto the bed and i laid my head on his as i was crying. He rubbed my hair and my back as i cried. I couldn't stop crying n it has been so long since I've cried like this.
"Hey beautiful, sit up." Colby said.
"What?" I said as i sat up and he did too.
He put his hands on the side of my face and crashed his lips onto mine and kissed me like I have never been kissed before. I kissed him back and after about 15 seconds he pulled away.
"Rose, I am so sorry that happened to you. You deserve way better than that. You're absolutely stunning and the most amazing girl I have ever met. The way your eyes sparkle when you get happy. The way you smile and blush when i compliment you. I've never felt such a connection with someone. I am so happy you're living here now. I will protect you and i will never let him hurt you again. I swear. Rose Williams, will you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?" He smiled at me.
"Of course. I would love to be your girlfriend Colby Brock." I giggled.
He kissed me for a while longer.

After another hour or so Colby and i had just finished watching Netflix. 
"Grab a sweatshirt baby. It's getting cold and we're gonna head to the bridge soon." Colby kissed my forehead.
