The game begins at exactly five. When the first game ends me and Allie go to the concession stands and grab some food. After five minutes I finally retrive my candy and popcorn. We sit done at a table when I see thoughs girls from the soccer fields. They are dressed in volleyball uniforms. I never saw them playing but I guess they were.
"Shit" Allie says as she puts her hand on the side of her face trying to block it.
The girls begin to walk over to us.
"Hey Allie" one of the girls in the group says. She looks like the head girl of the group.
Allie uncovers her face and turns to look at the girl.
"Hello Chloe" Allie says annoyed but I don't know why because this girl seems nice.
"How's your basketball career going" Chloe says laughing, obviously being mean.
"It's great thanks for asking" Allie sarcastically says.
"Well I'll see you watching the game, because unfortunately you can't play it" Chloe says smirking.
They walk away from us and head into the locker rooms. Allie turns around to me looking really annoyed and kind of pissed off.
"Who were they?" I really would like to know who they are.
"Thats Kaylee, Bella and the head of their little group, Chloe. Their the populars here at Edgewood"
"Oh they seemed to annoy you?"
"Yeah they went to my school and oddly we all got letters to come here. All four of us used to be best friends in ninth grade untill I became poor because we had to pay the hospital bills for my mom"
"Oh I'm sorry. So is your mom out of the hospital?" I ask.
"uh actually.." She stops for a second before speaking again. "Um she died at the end of the year of ninth grade"
"Oh my god" I say with empathy "I'm so sorry"
"it's okay I've gotten used to it" she says.
"I'm not trying to make you all sad or anything but when she said, unfortunately she can't play it, what did they mean?"
"Well back at our school I tried out for the volleyball team and I went to spike the ball. I jumped to high and landed on the net and broke the net in half some how"
"Oh my god that's bad, not to be mean though"
"Yeah I know and everyone saw and it was really bad"
"Well we should probably get back to the game" I say trying to change the subject.
We walk back to the gym and find a seat just before the game begins.
At the end of the game we leave the volleyball gym building and walk to Big B's Burgers just around the corner to get something to eat.
We get in line to order. I order a cheeseburger, fries and a pop. Allie gets the same thing as me. We sit down at a booth by a window. We start to eat and talk more about ourselves.
At about eight we walk back to our dorms. I put on some pajamas and
lay down on my bed. Allie turns on the tv on her side and I turn on mine. A couple minutes later I get a call from my mother. I walk out to the hall and answer the call.
"Hello?" I say.
"Hello Mia it's your mother and I was calling to remind you that tomorrow is Stonewell parade and you need to be there because your little brother is in it"
Crap. I need to practice soccer all day tomorrow because our practice to be on A or B team is in two days.
"Yes..Okay..I guess I'll be there"
"Okay I'll see you tomorrow at one and it ends at four"
I end the call and walk to the big room of the building where the restaurants, couchs, and computers are. Not many people are here which is odd because it's not that late. I sit at a couch and think about tomorrow. I'll have to practice after the parade. I can't pratice in the morning because I have to eat breakfast, get ready, eat lunch and then leave at twelve because it takes a hour to get to Stonewell from Edgewood. I'll pratice from about five thirty to eight. Tomorrow is going to be a long day.
I walk back to my room and go to bed at about nine because I have to get up at around seven if I'm going to be there on time.
