8 - Insults

"Ah, Chen! Sorry we went to lunch without you. We ordered you a dish and brought it with us though!" Baekhyun chirped, handing over a plastic bag over to Chen. The seven members, including Sehun, met up with Chen and Su Ju in front of the SM building.

"Thank you! However, I am not hungry right now. Can I give it to Su-" Chen began.

"Okay! I'll just take it back. We can finish it for dinner or something. We have to get to our meeting now anyways." Baekhyun said.

Chen faced Su Ju and mouthed an apology.

"Ah! There are my superstars." Manager Hyun exclaimed, grinning. The EXO members, including Su Ju, scowled at him.

"Now, come take a seat. We have lots to discuss."

The EXO members hesitantly took seats around the conference table.

"We have been invited to a contest in one month. Basically, K Pop artists and groups are gathering at one of the largest stages of Seoul in order to preform a different K Pop group's song!" Manager Hyun said excitedly. That got the boys interested. While they hated their new manager, they still had a fiery passion for the arts and were quite competitive.

"Okay. So we have to dance and sing the song and that's it?" Chanyeol asked.

"The winner gets a trophy. And what's better than earning a prize to show off the fact that you're better than everyone else?" Manager Hyun asked. He passed out another schedule.

"Okay. So on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, you'll continue your regular training. Voice lessons, dance practice of your album, and occasionally you'll attend parties, concerts, award ceremonies, and shows. On Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, you shall practice on another group's song." Manager Hyun continued.

"Oh! So do we get to choose our favorite song from another group?" Chen asked excitedly.

"Nope. I will be choosing the song."

A chorus of groans came form EXO.

"I was thinking of NCT's Limitless. We do want to show off our newest member, right? There are lots of singing parts in it. I think. I wish I could be NCT's manager. They'd be so much more pleasant and not late, am I right?" Manager Hyun said.

All of EXO just looked down and tried their best to hide their embarrassment.

"It was Su Ju's fault. He was slow in wrapping up." D.O. said.

"Yeah, yeah whatever. Anyhow, right now it is around the time in which you go back to dance practice. Practice more than one song this time. It is around 12, you guys can have dinner at 7:00 p.m. Oh and by the way, you guys have an interview next week on Monday and you guys have to go to a show on Tuesday. Oh, and you have a concert in two weeks on next Friday. For the concert, you'll sing The Eve. Did I tell you how retarded Power looks? Seriously, all you guys could do was put together a bunch of nerf guns and run around an imaginary monster? Jesus."

The EXO members left, all extremely angry. Even Su Ju.

"This isn't right. He shouldn't be treating us this way!" Su Ju spoke up.

"Su Ju, why don't you just follow Manager Hyun's orders and shut up." Chanyeol said coldly. Su Ju gulped and looked down at his feet.

"Let's just go guys. We need to practice The Eve." Chen said.

Seven Hours Later

"Su Ju your technique is terrible. You know nothing about dancing with fire, with a toughness." Kai said.

"We have been practicing only the first verses and the first chorus, and you keep on messing up in the freaking chorus. Can you just get it right for once?" Chanyeol asked.

"Mianhe...I guess that this song just isn't for me." Su Ju replied.

"Well then you better force it to be. We don't want you to mess up our mini concert. So you should practice more than us since we actually get the moves." Suho said.

"I'm sorry, I'll work harder. You guys go to dinner, I'll continue to work on the song. I know the moves and all, I just need to perfect them." Su Ju said.

"Do you want us to buy you anything?" Chen asked.

Before Su Ju could reply, he was cut off by Baekhyun.

"I think it would be best if you limited your eating, Su Ju." He said, eyeing Su Ju's body.

Now, Su Ju knew that he didn't have the body of Xiumin or Sehun (wink) but he did know that he was as skinny as a stick. And that was because he often skipped dinner and lunch because he never had the time and never had the money. But he didn't want to anger his fellow members even more by disagreeing with them, so he only agreed.

"Okay. You guys go ahead." Su Ju said, taking a swig from his water bottle.

"Okay. Bye." Suho said, leaving along with the other seven members.

Before Chen left, he turned around and looked at Su Ju.

"You should eat more Su Ju. Are you sure you don't want me to sneak you something?" He asked.

Su Ju smiled at him. Chen must have been his guardian angel, protecting and looking over him.

"Ne. Thank you, Chen-sshi. You have been taking such good care of me." Su Ju said, bowing down respectfully.

"No need for the honorifics. Just call me hyung." Chen said, winking before leaving.

~Four Hours Later, Around 11:00 a.m.~

Su Ju's POV

My body collapsed onto the cold, hard wood floor. As I looked at myself in the mirror, I noticed how wrecked I looked. My red eyes stood out from my pale skin as beads of sweat slid down the side of my face. I had finally perfected my technique, or at least to the point in which I was satisfied. I dragged my body to the door, only carrying my empty water bottle. I had forgotten to bring my wallet, so I couldn't pay for a cab or bus back to EXO's dorm. I walked extremely slow back to the EXO dorm. The streets were quiet and I found them peaceful. However, it did take another hour to walk there. By the time I saw the house, I felt as if I were stepping on knives.

As I arrived at the EXO dorm, I noticed how the lights were all off. It was around 12:00, after all. I reached my arm out to the doorbell before my arm fell back to the side of my body. I decided not to wake them up. I didn't want to anger them and I knew how they basically hated me. Tomorrow was Wednesday and we would start practicing NCT's Limitless and they needed all of their energy anyways. I turned around and started walking to the only other place I could think of-my previous home.
