"They didn't see them for a while." Y/N wrote in her diary.

"Laf, Mulligans, Laurens, Alexander.. they haven't been around--well, of course they haven't.. They've all been fighting for our country." she continued. There was a knock on Y/N's door.

"Are you okay, Y/N? I know you're struggling." Angelica walked in with Peggy behind her, arms crossed.

"Daddy wouldn't like anything you're up to." Peggy huffed. Y/N made a look at Peggy, immediately shutting her up.

"Daddy won't mind, and he doesn't need to know." Y/N replied, a bit exasperated. She turned towards Angelica and said, "How are you doing? I know you're also struggling too."

"I mess them all." she sighed. "But it's okay, they're strong." Angelica smiled at Y/N.

"Are there any plans for today? I don't want to sit around." Peggy sat down in a chair.

"You're sitting right now." Angelica stared at her, squinting, as if not seeing properly. Peggy rolled her eyes. "Point taken."

A while later, the L/N sisters went with Philip once again to the town square. Instead of socializing, the sisters sat down on a bench. Except Peggy. She no care.

"Daddy is going to get mad if you don't "engage in social conversation with the middle class!" according to what he said." Peggy stood down at them. "If you wont listen, I won't care." Peggy waltzed off.

"I hate it when she does that." Y/N laughed, Angelica joining her. "She's a peach."

Y/N looked around towards the townsfolk. They all looked.. tired.

"Everyone's all beat up over the war. It's been a long, long time. And it's only just the beginning.." Angelica sighed.

Y/N worried for everyone. All her friends, how were they? Are they in pain? Are they struggling? Are they...

No. I mustn't think of the worst. But I can't help it. They're out there, fighting for their country, for our country. We can't just stand around like brainless fools!

"We need to do something to let them know we're supporting them." Y/N clenched the sides of her dress, then getting up and facing Angelica. "Look at everyone, look at us. We're all so worried. We need a break."

"Y/N, there's nothing we can do. All we can do is wait."

"Oh, I can think of something we can do." A man walked straight into the conversation. He stayed in the shadows, away but close enough and loud enough to be heard. He looked scary. Dangerous.
