Mark's POV

Today's the day. The finale of the 3DFight championship

3DFight is a VR hologram game. 2 players put the VR headset on and they are projected to an arena, where the viewers can see them, like they are real. Your hologram character only moves if you move, so this game requires actual fighting skill.

So far I had beaten everyone easily. I did't know who my final enemy was going to be. I could only find out right before the new game starts.

I still had about half an hour left, so I decided to walk around. The place was crowded. Hundreds of people wanted to see who the best was gonna be. They already knew what fighting techniques the two players used, and their gender.

I decided to check The Leaderboard, to see who the audience finds more likely to win.
But when I saw it, it wasn't what I expected at all. The bets were split 50-50. Who was this player?

As I was thinking I heard a female voice next to me.
-Interesting situation, huh?

I looked in the direction of the voice, and saw a beautiful girl with pink hair.

-Yeah...
I replied, assuming she was talking to me.

-So, who do you think is gonna win?
-Well...
I was Player 1, and I was pretty confident.

-I think Player 1's got this. I like his technique. You?
-I'm thinking Player 2.
-Really? What do you think is good about him?
-Her.

Shit. My opponent is a girl? I did not expect that. i had to make up an excuse.

-Oh yeah, sorry, I'm just used to saying "him", since mostly guys play it.
-Yeah, but I know girls who play it too. I do as well. And I really like her tricks.
-That's cool. What's you username?
-Peebles. And by the way my real name's Amy. Yours?
-Well, my user's Markiplier. My real name's Mark.
-Nice to meet ya.
-Nice to meet ya too. Also, can I invite you for a coffee after the competition?
-Wow, you have confidence! I like that. But I'm not that easy to impress. Show me your skill at one of the arcade games here, and maybe, just maybe, you can.
-What about some classics?

We spent the time until the competition playing classic arcade games, like Pacman, Galaga and Donkey Kong. She was really good at them, but so was I, and I think I impressed her, cause she gave me her number. But five minutes before the fight started, she stormed off. I found that kind of odd.

I hurried to my game chamber. I got ready. I put my gaming suit and VR headset on. The game turned on and I pressed the fateful button.

New Game

3rd person POV

Both players appeared in the arena. Player 1:Markiplier
Player 2:Peebles
They both seemed surprised.
-Unexpected twist, huh?
-Seems like it.
-Well, good luck, Amy
-Good luck, Mark.
The countdown began

Start

Mark stared running, pulling his blade from its shell. Amy did the same and the sound of clashing metal filled the room. Amy then suddenly crouched and tried to get a hit on Mark's legs, but he reacted immediately, jumping up.
He stared backing up, but then suddenly he tripped... Except he didn't! He rolled backwards, catching Amy, who was running towards him, off guard. He got a hit on her.

Markiplier: 3HP
Peebles: 2HP

But Amy didn't get angry or distracted. She moved backwards, then sprinted towards Mark. She threw something on the ground and it lifted her up. She performed a flip over Mark, and when she was right above him, Amy flung her weapon, hitting Mark right in the head.

Markiplier: 2HP
Peebles: 2HP

Mark looked like he was about to fall over, but instead he did a somersault and stood up perfectly fine. Amy landed and turned around. For a few seconds they just stared at each other, but after that they stared running towards the centre of the arena, with all of their power. As the two swords clashed, the audience was deafened by the loud sound it made, as the players were thrown back by the impulse, the shards of the now broken swords hitting them.

Markiplier: 1HP
Peebles: 1HP

They both started to take out their second weapons, but Mark was faster. Before Amy could properly get her sword, he jumped at her, pinning her to the ground. He held his blade at Amy's neck, making her unable to move. Every single person in the crowd was holding their breath.
It looked like Mark was hesitating. But  actually, he was doing something very different.

Mark's POV

I made my character freeze. I quickly took the headset off and sneaked out of my chamber. I ran towards the other one, where Amy was. She was on the ground, still in the position my character was keeping her in.
-Amy? Freeze your avatar. I've got a deal.

3rd person POV

After about fifteen seconds, they both started moving again. Mark pulled his blade away from Amy. Then he did something that made the whole crowd gasp.

He kissed her.

After a few seconds they pulled away. They both knew what they had to do. They stood up and looked each other in the eyes. Then, at the exact same moment, they stabbed each other.

Markiplier: 0HP
Peebles: 0HP

Game Over

But their game wasn't over. It had just started.

(If you can visualise things you read, you can imagine what their fight looked like. I have a very visual thinking, and it was super hard to write down what I imagined. I hope it turned out okay. Only one chapter this week, sorry, I was super busy. I'll post 3 next week, so don't worry)
