Song: One Republic - Counting Stars
/Amyplier/

Mark's POV

Let me tell you something. Bank robbing is not easy. I had to town to town. Living in hotels.
I had to plan everything very carefully. I couldn't risk getting caught.
I knew it was wrong. But I feel something so right doing the wrong thing.

I was going to rob a bank in New Orleans. A bigger city than what I was used to, so I had to be extra careful.

Ski mask. Check
Gloves. Check
Shoes bigger than my foot size. Check
Sunglasses. Check
Bag. Check
Gun. Check, duh...
Ride. Check

I was about to commit the perfect crime.
Or at least I thought. I wasn't ready for one thing.

Competition.

6:30 pm. The bank was going to close at 7, so only a few people would be there. The sun was going down. It was perfect timing.
I waited in an alleyway until I didn't see any more pedestrians. I put my mask and sunglasses on and ran inside the bank.
I immediately looked for the security camera and shot it.

-Hands up! This is a robbery!

It was a small bank. Only two employees. And one customer, which made me pleasantly surprised.

-Throw all phones to the floor or I will kill you!

I wouldn't have been able to kill them, but they didn't know that.
They obeyed my demand. I smiled to myself. This was gonna be easier than I thought.
But then I heard the door open. A female voice shouted:

-Hands up! This is a robb...
She must have seen that I was doing the same thing.
We were equally shocked. I had never experienced anything like that, and based on her reaction, neither had her.
I glanced at her, while I was still pointing my gun towards the employees and the customer. She was also wearing a mask, but no sunglasses. I could see the surprise in her brown eyes.
She pointed her gun at me. But I had a trick up my sleeve... Literally. I had another gun up my sleeve. I only used it in case of emergency.
We just stood there for a couple of seconds. Her pointing a gun at me, me pointing one with my left hand at her and one with my right hand at the others. She spoke first.

-What do you think you're doing?!
-Umm... Robbing a bank?

It bothered her how calm I looked, even though inside I was terrified.

-Let's just talk.
I tried to sound as calm as I looked. I don't know if I succeeded.
-That's all you can come up with?
She was trying to sound tough.

-What do you think about half-half?
-I'd be happier if I got all of the dosh, but if that's the only way you don't shoot me...
-Well then... Deal?
-Deal.

I put my second gun away and she aimed hers towards the employees and the customer.
The phones were still on the ground. I picked them up and threw them into the trash. I'm not an expert codebreaker, so I wouldn't have gotten much from them.

Everything went smoothly after that. I went with one of the employees to get the money, while she stopped the other two people from getting away.

We ran out together. She followed me to the alleyway my motorbike was at.
We took off all of the suspicious clothes.
She wasn't facing me when she took her mask off. But when she turned around, I saw... The most beautiful girl I've ever seen.
-May I offer you a ride, m'lady? We can go to the hotel I'm staying at, y'know to sort the money question out.
-Sure, Mr. Good Guy.
-Mr. Good Guy? More like Mr. Bad Guy!
-Oh yeah? Do bad guys offer half of their money to other people?
-Oh shut up!
She smiled brashly.
I hopped on the motorbike and she sat behind me.
-You ready?
-Yeah, duh!

The place I was staying at looked more like a motel, but it's "official name" was Hotel Jasmine.
It didn't even have an elevator. We had to go up the stairs.
I locked the door after we got in.  Even though I was pretty sure nobody wanted to come in, there was still a
chance. I couldn't risk it.

I counted the money.
-20k. Not bad! Actually, really good compared to the usual. So...
I didn't even realise until now that we didn't even know each other's names.
-Amy.
-Thanks. I'm Mark, by the way.
-Cool.
-Anyway, so Amy. We can each get 10k.  Is that good?
-Yeah, whatever.

I still couldn't believe how astonishingly beautiful she was.
I divided the money into two equal stacks.Amy packed one half away and stood up.
-You're going already?
-Yeah, I don't really have a reason to stay.
She walked towards the door.

-Wait!
-What is it?
I walked closer to her.
I don't know what I was thinking, but... I kissed her.

She seemed shocked for a moment, but then she realised what was happening. To my surprise, she leaned in, deepening the kiss. She ran her fingers through my hair. Before we knew, we were wildly making out. I don't know when we pulled away, but we were panting.
-Maybe... We could do things different than we usually do.

----------------------

It's been about a month since then. We haven't robbed any banks. We found real jobs. I've never been this happy before. I've heard before how love can change people for the better, but I never believed it. Well... Now I know.

Right now we're laying outside. It's almost midnight. And we're not counting dollars.
We're counting stars.

(Well this was interesting to write. Sorry for not posting earlier, I was too busy fangirling over Star Wars :D)
QOTD: What's you favourite movie? I have two: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi ;)
