I woke up in my bedroom and reached for my cellphone that was sitting on my nightstand. I got a notification, it was a text message from Anna.

Hey, went to the grocery store to pick up a little something for breakfast. See you in a bit!

I got out of bed and got a towel and took a quick shower. I got out and brushed my teeth, and then planned out my outfit for the day. I wore a white off the shoulder long sleeved top, with ripped jeans that were rolled up at the pant legs, with my sandals. For my hair I curled it and put it up into a half bun, and then I applied my makeup, and was finished.

I went down stairs just in time to see Anna walking through the door with grocery bags. "Need some help?" "Yeah sure." she smiled. I went out to the car to get the rest of the grocery bags. "So, what are you making?" I asked. "I'm going to be making waffles, with eggs and sausage. And, we're making... Smoothies!" "MMM, sounds like a tasty breakfast." "Sure is- hey, can I talk to you?" she looked hesitant. "Well, I was just wondering what is going on between you and that guy?" I knew this conversation would have been coming up sooner or later. Honestly, I don't  know what's going on between me and Skylar. We just met, and he already has a nickname for me. He even holds my hand and calls me beautiful. Maybe I should ask him? "Oh me and Skylar? Nothing really..." "Oh come on Mel, the guy likes you! and you like him!" She was right, I do like him. But what me and Skylar have right now is going way too fast.

I changed the subject. "Need any help with breakfast?" "yeah sure, you could make the smoothies." I got all the ingredients and set them on the table including the glasses and started making the smoothies. "So what are your plans for the day?" I asked. "Well, I was thinking we could go shopping. There's a lot of places we can shop at." "Sounds like a plan to me."

Anna finished making breakfast and I set the table for the both of us. "This is really good. Who are you, and what did you do with my best friend?" Anna laughed. "Well with my parents always being out of town, you have to kind of teach yourself how to make yourself breakfast. I'm glad you enjoy it." Anna's parents are very busy with work, so they're always gone. Sometimes I wonder how she feels about them constantly being away. "Have you talked to your parents?" "Not really. I just figured they're too busy to talk." "Makes sense. Where are they now?" "Who knows, they don't really tell me what they're doing next with their jobs." Anna's mom works as a flight attendant, and her father works as a Geoscientist, so they're almost never home.

"You done?" "Yeah, I'm stuffed." I took Anna's plate and scraped the remaining scraps of food she didn't eat into the trash, and went to the sink and washed the plate. While I was doing that, Anna walked over and hugged me from behind and put her head on my shoulder. "Thank you." "For what, love?" "For always being here no matter what. You never leave me. And I'm so thankful for that." "Of course. You're my best friend. You're like the sister I've never had." I'm the only child in my family. So it's safe to say that Anna is like a sister to me. We've been best friends since we were little. I met Anna in elementary school. She was in the same class as me in kindergarten. And we've been best friends ever since.

I finished washing all the dishes and put them on the drying rack. I turned around with a smile. "Ready?" "Ready." Anna smiled back. She grabbed the keys and we grabbed our purses and we headed out the door and got in the car. "Where are we headed first?" "I made a list." She searched through her purse and pulled out a paper with the list of places she wanted to go. "First, we go to Forever 21." "And you're sure we have enough money for all these stores?" I snatched the list out of her hand and giggled. It wasn't a big list, but there were stores that were pretty expensive. "Anna!" "What? we have enough, don't forget my parents do have money." She winked. "Fine. But lets not go overboard." she smirked. "Of course not."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We shopped all day. And by the end of it, we were exhausted. "Hey, you want to see a movie?" Anna asked. "Sure. What's in theaters?" "I'm not sure, we'll have to see." Anna drove us to the theater. "Scary, or romance?" "I kind of want to watch a scary movie." "Scary movie it is. Which surprises me." "why does that surprise you." I gave Anna a questioning look. "Well, you usually always want to watch a romance movie. And you cry every time!" "Do not!" "Do too and you know it." Anna smiled. "I want to do something new for a change." "Melody Brookes. Doing something new and different?" I rolled my eyes.

We finally made it to the movie theater, and got our tickets to see 'Best Friends Forever.' Kind of ironic that we're watching this scary movie because we're best friends. We got in line for popcorn and drinks. Anna insisted that we share a large popcorn, and then we get our own drinks. "Ready?" Anna asked while turning around with our drinks and popcorn. "Lets do this."

Although I don't watch a lot of scary movies, this one was pretty good. The movie was about two girls who had been best friends for most of their lives. But one of them wanted to kill their best friend, so it kind of creeped me out a little bit. I whispered to Anna. "I really hope you're not planning to kill me." "Of course not." She said with a giggle. Someone shushed us, and we giggled together.

The movie was finally over. "So did you like it?" Anna asked. "It was pretty good, i'm glad you suggested we watch a movie." I gave her a smile, and she smiled back. "I enjoyed it too. Come on, lets get home. I'm exhausted." We threw away our garbage and headed outside to the car and drove home.

"Today was really fun, I love a day full of shopping." "Me too." Anna said turning her head to face me and then looking back at the road. We finally got home and carried all of our shopping bags into the house. "I cannot wait to catch some z's." I said while yawning. "Me too."

I headed upstairs and put all my bags on the floor. And put some PJ's on and got in bed and fell asleep. In the middle of the night, Anna got in bed with me. I think it was the movie. She cuddled up to me and that was the end of our amazing, tiring day.
