"I've lost everything!", "they didn't even know who i was!", "I was shown no mercy! they didn't look at me or anything! all they did was walk in and take everything away! even killing anyone who resisted! my neighbors, ones i could call my friends".......This is all Luce could hear as she was taking a walk through the tower. The cries of refugee's who have come to the tower searching an answer, The only place that anyone knew as "safe". "Another city block was attacked by Dead Orbit last night" Luce thought to herself. "Any survivors fled to the tower wanting justice". Luce took a look at Ikora at how well she's dealing everyone that is explaining what happened, to them and what they knew as home. "She's always been a good listener". A group of 44 refugees circle Ikora seeking her help and soft words. And there is always more to come. "Why cant something be done about the wars" Luce spoke.
Luce slowly treads to the courtyard, trying to enjoy this fresh bright morning on Earth. She passes Banshee-44 and waves. Walks by her vault and places her hands on the railing. She takes a look at the city, fires that are always going, non-stop sirens in one sector after another. And knows how much suffering the people have to go through. "Whats worse is there are guardians helping the factions, giving them the upper hand" Luce reasons to herself. "What a waste of light". After her stare at the city, she looks up at the traveler and is reminded that she is doing the good thing, staying out of the way, giving the help and support when needed. Zavala is leaning over the railing at the far left of Luce. Feeling worthless for letting this happen to humanity's home planet. Feeling regret and sorrow, selfblame most of all. Zavala gets a small punch in his right arm from behind. "Don't be down man, humans have always been stupid" Cayde attempting to comfort Zavala. "This is far from a joke Cayde" Zavala replies. "Your right.....your right....something needs to happen, someone needs to step up, because me, you and Ikora, were drained, we have done the best we can" Cayde explains. "I couldn't agree more my friend" Zavala sighed. "Plus were getting old and old people get lazy" Cayde joked. "Anyways, im going to try and help Ikora, probably gonna leave after 5 minutes but im bored and tired, i cant do everything" Cayde continued to say. Zavala continued to look over the city, still feeling down, but gladly having the thought in the back of his head that he still has his old friends.
As Zavala looks over the city from the left and Luce to the far right of him. The railing begins to shake in their hands. a slight tremor shakes the entire tower. In the far distance, a skyscraper in the middle of the city, explodes in a burst of fire, falling down to the ground. Everyone on the tower can hear the immense screams of the citizens down in the city. The tower goes quiet. Another major building was torn down because of war, And conflict. Everyone is struck with pain, thinking of the hundreds of lives that were just lost. Not knowing what to do. A few guardians at the tower break down in tears. Wanting to do something but knowing they may meet other guardians who will kill anything in their way. "I cant stand by and watch anymore, this has gone on for years and there has been no successful attempts to stop the endless hatred between the factions" Luce reasons with herself. "its my turn to offer what i can". Luce walks across the bridge and stands beside Zavala getting his attention. "Guardian, what is it you want?" Zavala questions. "i cant stand by and watch anymore, I want to offer the help i can, i want to go down there and see what lives i can save, give the justice that needs to be given, i may lose my life but"..."Stop talking" Zavala interrupts Luce. "Go and do what needs to be done, you will not lose your life. Find guardians up here to help you, there are many who feel the same way as you do. Talk to old friends and reconnect with lost guardians if you can. All we can do is try". Without saying another word, Luce departs from Zavala. Immediately Thinking of ones she traveled with in the past, feeling a rush of wanting to make change. Names begin to come back to her. Luce decides to try contact her old team. Or whoever's left. Everyone seemed to have disappeared about a year after the wars broke out. Luce runs for her quarters. Running past people, passing Ikora once more, and entering the bazaar. Dashes into her apartment complex, opening the door, and grabbing the Mission record tablet thats sitting on the living room coffee table. The tablet records her old Fireteam's most successful Mission given to them. Luce stares at the tablet, with the front cover, holding a picture of the 6 of them, At the entrance, of Emperor Calus's Palace. Luce smiles. Wanting her old team back again.
She puts in the password to open the tablet. It opens up the mission info and details about the attack on the palace. At the bottom left it holds a button that opens the details of the members of the fireteam. Showing an achievement statement from Zavala stating: "One of the most successful Fireteams i have ever seen in my lifetime". Luce opens up the log book of her long gone members. First was Herself, Luce, The teams Dawnblade. Who led the team in what to do, guiding her team through the seeming never-ending palace, keeping the team spirit alive. Second, was Kaleka their Stormcaller, and Zara, their Sentinel. Two furious girls who, fought through some of Calus's fiercest warriors. grabbing the keys to open the gates to the palace. Nothing stopping them. Third was Inara their Gunslinger, proving her impressive agility in Calus's gauntlet room, dashing over barricades, and jumping over massive gaps that sunk into the depths of the palace. Fourth was Xeno-3, their Voidwalker. Revealing his extremely aggressive fighting abilities and knowledge about Calus's bathing pools room. Lifting up the lanterns to destroy with his incredible firepower. The final log recorded their Nightstalker, Jasper. Who stealthily walked her team across the gardens of Calus's pets. Avoiding the fatal claws of the beasts, and very wisely bringing them to safety. At the end of all their trials, they were brought to Calus himself. And in a battle of desperation, ones were lost but brought back. In a battle of succession, the fireteam fought very valiantly and with the variety of abilities the team brought to Calus, they were able to defeat him. Once brought to the bottom of the throne room for rewards, they recorded the details and returned to the tower. With attention and praise shown to them...........A tear drops from Luce's eye as she replays this all in her head. "The good days" she whispers. She decides to try and contact her 5 members. Wondering where they went after the wars. Traveling to different planets, sectors, reconnecting with old friends who prefer to stay where they are, like Failsafe and Sloane. after a few days of searching the planets where she thought she would find something, Luce decides to return back to Earth. Dissapointed, she was on the verge of giving up. When an incoming transmission comes from Zavala-Earth-Tower. "accept" Luce intructs her ghost. "Guardian, i believe the ones who are willing to help......are here". In extreme excitement and curiosity, Luce darts for Earth. Approaching the tower, her ship is lowered and she jumps out as soon as she is able. Running for the courtyard. She crosses the retractable bridge. And in extreme relief and happiness. She catches her eye on Zara, Kaleka, Jasper, and Xeno-3.
