Colby was going insane by the second.
However, there was one scenario he didn't even think about. One that actually happened.
The ride broke.

Colby knew something was going to go wrong. He was totally, absolutely, correct.
The girls had gotten on the ride fine, Alli was excited for the first time today and she felt better. After getting strapped in and settled, Devyn helped Allison pull the string to let them go, and it went great.
That is, however, thirty seconds in when the ride broke down.

Colby heard his little girl, screaming and crying in the middle of a ride, the only thing holding them up being a chord or rope or whatever it was.
"Daddy!" She screamed helplessly.
Devyn felt awful, she was freaking out but she couldn't show it or Allison would cry even more.
But she needed to help the girl.

"Alli, please stop crying, it's going to be okay, you're going to be okay," I tried helping her calm down but all she did was ignore me and call for Colby.
"Devyn!" I heard someone calling my name from below. I looked down to find Corey yelling over at me, trying to get my attention. I looked straight at him, letting him know I was listening.
"Baby, don't be hurt, oh god please!" I watched his face break down and Elton grabbed him, giving him a gentle hug for comfort.
I was going to be fine, and so was Allison, right?

It's been like an hour and firefighters are coming to get us, finally. We were going to be safe.
I hear what seemed like thousands of people screaming when all of a sudden I feel the ride drop down a bit.
Alli and I screamed, I was going to fall and die, great. Alli cried harder and started kicking and jumping, making the situation worse, I had to yell at her.
I so badly didn't want to, but she wouldn't listen to me and she was going to make the ride fall down if she continued. So I yelled.
"Allison Mae Brock, stop kicking and screaming right now, don't you dare move!" I yelled as angrily as I could to scare her. It worked.
Alli froze and her crying turned to whimpers and sniffles, but quit moving. That was going to help, but I feel so bad.
"The chord's giving out!" A heard multiple people scream and I look up. The chord was breaking and I didn't know what to do.

Back on the ground everyone was screaming and crying, especially Colby and Corey.
Colby collapsed into Sam, thinking he was going to have to watch his own daughter fall to her death without giving a goodbye.
