It's a funny story. How this all came to be.

This..

How I miss Piko. I miss the friend he was to me, before all of this happened. But it could never be the same, no matter what we tried.

Let me tell you about it.

// Years ago. //

"Yuuma-umma!" I had my arms locked around his waist as soon as I saw him, my boyfriend. He gazed dowm at me with those warm eyes. "I missed you, you said I'd see you this weekend. What happened?"

"Stuff came up with Piko, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't get around to telling you what happened." Yuuma explained, cradling me to his chest.

"It's fine. I just missed you.. I had our weekend all planned out, you know. So tell me what happened with Piko?" I took a step back, my curiosity very obvious.

"Rin left him for Dell, again."

"Oh.. Is he here? Did he come to school?" I can't help but feel bad, he's the second (to Yuuma) sweetest guy I know. I'd never wish something like this on him. He and Rin had been on and off for a year. It always ends with Rin running back to Dell, her manipulative ex. I almost feel bad for her.

"Yeah, I think so. Try to cheer him up, yeah? He was in tears the entire time I was there." Yuuma sigh, then ran his fingers through his hair. "I don't know what to do for him, it's a little strange to see him cry."

"Yeah, I'll try. If I see him in class, I'll talk to him.. Try to cheer him up somehow, do something, I don't know. I hate seeing him sad."

"Me too. We should really get to class, though." Yuuma and I began walking down the hallway and up two flights of stairs. We continued talking about our plans after school, and maybe bringing Piko along.

We took our seats and exchanged a look. Piko sat between us. He hasn't looked at us, but had his earbuds blasting Meltdown. He had a look of despair on his face.

I softly tapped his shoulder, making him unplug and turn his attetion to me. Taking me by complete surprise, he threw his arms around me.

"Ah! Piko!" I embraced him, cradling him to me. "So, I heard about what happened, I'm sorry-" He cut me off with a small cry, his shoulders shaking as he sobbed into my chest.

"I miss her so much.." His voice was shaking. "She was my everything."

I rubbed his back softly until the bell rung. Then he pulled away, wiped his eyes and sighed.

Yuuma looked a little upset by all the touching, but he reminded himself this was their friend. Nothing would happen, right?

// After school. //

Piko and I walked out of the building, he was clinging on my arm. He had made it the rest of the day without crying.

"(Y/N), thanks.. For being there for me." I smiled and waved my hand to dismiss it. "Could I come over? I want to talk to you, alone.. I don't like telling Yuuma this shit."

"Of course, I get it. I'll text him."

Yuuma ran up behind them.

"Hey! What are we doing?"

The both of us turned around. A false smile on his face.

"Yuuma, actually-"

"Piko wants to talk, alone."

"What? So.." Yuuma's face dropped at what they're hinting at. "You want me to go home?"

I sigh and glance at Piko who was looking the other way.
