Trigger warning!
This story does contain an abusive relationship between two vocaloids. While it is just a story, abuse is a very real thing. I do not promote abuse in any shape of form. If this is a sensitive topic to you, I do not recommend reading this story. The two were a match made in hell.
Lily was the type of girl who only wanted to see the good in the ones she loved. She was easily manipulated, as well. She did not ask questions, just acted. And her biggest downfall was that she was a people pleaser, even if pleasing that person meant putting herself through pain.
Akaito was, to keep it short, an awful person. He was her manipulator. He spoke and she acted. In the heat of the moment, she didn't stop to think about what she was actually doing. Or how it affected the ones around her.
It was like she was a puppet and he controlled the strings from up above. Telling her how to think, when to move, etc.
None of Lily's friends approved of him. It was a rule he had laid on the table from day one, anyone who has a problem with him is not to be tolerated. Not to be kept around. They are not to be part of her life. Because he loves her and wants what is best for her.
But he could remain friends with Miku, a hooker he had admitted to having a sexual relationship with at one point in time. Something Lily always had an issue with but never gained enough courage to vocalize.
// In their apartment. //
"Akaito, please.." Lily whimpered, struggling against his grip. "You're hurting me.." Her voice cracked as she avoided his hell freezing glare.
"Tell me who he is and I'll let you go, Lil." His voice was slow and almost a whisper, it was enough to make anyone shudder. And the fact that he used the nickname he gave her when the were kids, made it even worse.
"There is no one, only you, I promise! I love you, no one else, so please.. Stop it." Akaito released one of her arms that he had pinned to her side and grabbed her chin. Making her look directly at him, he could see her lip quiver and the tears forming in her eyes.
The two said nothing for what felt like hours. Akaito swiftly turned around and walked to their bedroom like nothing had happened. Lily, now exhausted, dropped to the floor.
The slamming of the bedroom door made her flinch. Almost all loud noises did, sometimes, even the small ones, too.
She wiped the tears from her face, staring down at her hands. Wet with her tears and stained with her makeup. Akaito hated when her makeup was running so despite how bad Lily wanted to curl up and scream, she got to her feet. And tried to silently make her way to the bathroom.
When Lily successfully crept her way into the bathroom, she flicked on the light and bit her lip as she shut the door. She wasn't allowed to lock it.
There was his outfit from the previous day on the floor, something she'd have to take care of before he notices it's still there. But before she bent down to collect the clothes, her eyes laid upon her reflection. The face Akaito claimed he loved.
The tears. The running makeup. The scar on her forehead from last month when he drank too much. The fear deep in her eyes. Her quivering bottom lip as she took in her appearance.
She had lost quite a bit of weight since they began dating. He didn't like her to have meat on her bones, he wanted her incredibly thin. At one point in time, her smile could light up an entire room. It was a contagious smile. That smile hasn't seen the light of day in almost two years. Akaito hated her circle glasses so she invested in contacts. He also hated the bags under her eyes from lack of sleep. Which he caused. She was to obey his every beck and call no matter what time it was. He might need her to run to the corner store and pick up more liquor late at night so she had to stay awake, just in case.
Her eyes were no longer vibrant. They were always wide with fear.
Her body had bruises and scars from his wrath. She had to buy a whole new wardrobe, consisting of long sleeves, hoodies, sweat pants and jeans. All of her skin had to be covered because if anyone saw the way her skin was damaged, they'd know something was up.
Her hair was no longer than her shoulders. Akaito really, really, hated her long hair. He said it always got in his face when he was trying to sleep, so, he decided to cut it off while she slept.
Lily reached out to touch the mirror holding her reflection. She knew the girl he tried to kill was still in there, locked away. The girl she used to be was lingering. The girl with hair past her rear and bright blue eyes and an everlasting smile. She hadn't faded completely.
Deciding she had been in there too long, she scooped up his clothes, flicked off the light and exited the room.
Lily had almost let out a cry of surprise as she bumped right into Akaito. She dropped the clothes and as a reflex, put up her hands to cover her head. Her eyes were clenched and she braced herself for the feeling of his fists against her frail body.
After a minute or so, when no contact had been made, Lily's eyes slowly opened. Her arms lowered.
"A-Akaito.." Her voice was soft and full of fear, much like her eyes.
As her eyes made their way to his face, it was obvious he had been crying. Her hand reached up and cupped his cheek.
"What's wrong, love?" Her voice was flooded with concern.
Akaito stared at her. He took in the sight of her state. He felt guilty for crying when she had been the one in pain.
"Akaito.." His arms snaked around her waist and pulled her in close. A gentle embrace, something she hasn't experienced in a long time. His arms were forceful not gentle. But this time, it was different. She wasn't sure if it was genuine or not.
"My sweet, sweet, Lily." His voice cracked as his tears began spilling. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so fucking sorry.." It was almost like his voice was vibrating with self hatred. "You didn't deserve any of this, why are you still with me?"
His cries turned into shouts.
Lily clutched his shoulders, clinging to him.
"You're worth everything, Akaito, I love you more than anything in the world. I'd go through it all for you.." She whispered into his ear, trying to fight off her own tears.
// Skip to two years later. //
"Akaito!" Lily called from the shower. She pulled the curtain back a little, "Can you bring my glasses in here? We don't have a lot of time!" She continued to wash the shampoo out of her hair, which had grown to just above her rear end.
The sound of the door being pushed open completely made her lips curve up into a smile.
His figure was visible through the curtain. He stuck his head inside the shower and grinned at her.
"Mind if I join?" His hair already began to get wet from the watering pouring down on her. "Your glasses are on the night stand, I'll grab them later."
Lily brushed her wet hair over her shoulder and pecked his lips.
"If you're going to join me, hurry up and wash my hair for me." A giggle left her lips as he stripped and made his way into the shower.
Lily moved to the back of the shower, letting the warm water run down his chest. Her lover turned to face her and smiled.
"You're beautiful, Lil." One of his arms were around her waist, the other had his hand resting on the small of her back. He did this to get her as close as possible. "And I love you."
Lily leaned her head against his chest and whispered, "I love you too."
His grip on her became a little tighter than usual.
"Thank you.. For staying with me, for putting up with all of my shit.. You're the strongest woman I've ever met."
Akaito wouldn't have noticed she began crying had she not sniffled. The tears on his bare chest felt like the water.
"I'd do it all for you."
