Madeline's POV:

"Flower, gleam and glow, let your power shine, make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine..."

"Mother? W-what are you doing here in the middle of the night?"

My mother smiled creepy at me. "It's working darling, your hair..." I rose up from my bed and looked at my hair. It's glowing. "T-there's a song for it to glow?" I asked her. "I found the song in a piece of paper I picked up when I was waiting for you yesterday. It was brilliant. I didn't even know it worked on your beautiful hair." I backed away from my mother. The glowing started to fade, and she glared at me. "Mother, get out." I told her to. "No Madeline, give me a piece of your hair first!" I pushed her out and locked the door.

"No...this can't be happening. I have to call Joy."

I grabbed my cellphone from my desk to make a call. "Hey ye? Who are ye, calling in the middle of the night when everybody else is sleeping?" Joy said. "Joy, it's me. Something happened to my hair and my mother's getting it, s-she wants to get it from me!" I exclaimed. "Let's talk about this tomorrow." Joy hung up and I stared at my hair. What is happening to it?

I was up for school and unlocked the door. I saw my mother, sitting on the couch smiling at me. "Good morning mother." I greeted her even though it's a little bit awkward for me to do so. Especially my mother barged in my room earlier midnight. I was going to the kitchen to eat breakfast. "Yes, yes. Eat your breakfast in the kitchen. Where there are many, many, many knives!! Hihihihihi!!" Eventually, I don't know what to do with her anymore. I need to pack up.

After breakfast, I immediately went to the bathroom to get a bath. I need to hurry up. When I was done, I hurriedly wet inside my room and locked the door, cover The windows, and sat on my bed. I prepared a huge back pack. Looks like I'll be staying in Joy's house for a little while. I put in all the things I need. Few clothes, undies, hygiene things, books, and my wallet. I wore a pink buttoned shirt and Capri's. I wore a sandals. I think mother's not gonna braid my hair. She's mad and crazy at the same time. Looks like I have to carry this one around. I went out of my room and saw my mother standing on the driveway.

"I'd like to fetch you to school today. And, why do you have a large bag?"

"It's gym class today."

My mother opened the car door and went inside. I went inside too. "I thought it was Tuesday?" She said. "Yeah, change of schedule." I said. We went out of the house. We didn't actually thought most of the way. When we arrived to school, my mother let me off. "Listen, Maddie, I'm very sorry about what happened yesterday evening." I smiled at her. "It wasn't yesterday. It's earlier midnight. Midnight's a new day." I told her. I went off the car and carried all my hair.

"Madeline! That's how long yer hair is? Not very long to me."

"Yeah? Well then if I let go of this will you believe?"

She nodded and then I let go of my hair. "It's like 60 ft long. My mother and I got into a huge fight so, she didn't braid my hair." She stared at it. "Was this the thing ye went to call me yesterday?" I grunted. "Earlier midnight! And no, this is not the only reason why I called you. Come on, let's go to class. Mind carrying my hair?" She nodded and then took the end of it. We went to our classroom and Dane saw us. "Madeline, y-your hair!" He exclaimed. "Don't be shocked, it's really like that." I told him. Lewis stood up and went towards me. "That's how long your hair is, and you didn't even tell us." Lewis told me. "Give me one reason why I should tell you!" I said to him. "Point made. It's 70 ft. Long. Are you sure you can handle it?" He asked me. "Wot are ye her boy friend? She doesn't need yer consulting, she needs someone to braid this ridiculously long hair!" Joy complained.

"Dane, have you find the ray of light in the darkness man?"

"Yeah, by my calculations, it's Sandman."

I sighed. "I have to tell you guys something." I told them. "Wot is it Maddie?" Joy asked. "My- AHHH! I need someone to braid this hair already!" I exclaimed. "ALRIGHT GIRLS, WHO KNOWS HOW TO BRAID!?" Joy shouted. "We know how to braid! Do you like it, French, Waterfall, Dutch, Ladder, Feather, Zipper or Crowned?" Diane, the ultimate braid girl maniac, and her friends asked. "Just the simple braid." I told them. "Woaaaaah. Maddie, your hair is sooooo long." Diane exclaimed. "Oh, it's so short, yeah." I said sarcastically. When they were done, they left to do their own business again. "Hah, there. No one would step on it now." I said. "So, what is it you're gonna tell us?" Dane asked. "Oh yeah, my hair glows. Pretty weird because Sir North said it would, and it does glow!" Dane scanned his book. "Rapunzel Corona has glowing, healing and bringing back youth hair that she got from the sun's flower." Dane read from the book.

"Is there a like, phrase that you should say for it to do so?"

"Yeah! A song! But, I can't make it glow here. It needs to be unbraided so I can do it."

"Then unbraid it!" Lewis said. "Then it would be stepped on! I can show you guys later when we find Sandman. Or Mr. Crudkins." I told them. I don't know if having a magical healing and bringing back youth hair that glows is a huge advantage for me or not. I just have to use it the right way.
