Family (part 1)

Madeline's POV:

Recently, we solved the guardians' challenge for us to find the meaning of four given numbers in school. Now, we're walking home carrying our little victory.

"Hey Maddie, Lewis! We're off here."

"What about you Joy? Aren't we living together for now?"

Joy scratched her head."Yeah, I'll just go for a bit shopping. My mum just texted. Ye go ahead!" She chuckled. "I have a bad feeling about that girl's intentions." Lewis said, but we went on. "So, what are you hiding Madeline?" I gulped. I didn't know he could be this straight-forward! "I-I'm not hiding anything." I said. I feel my hands sweating up. "I know you. When you're hiding something, you're not really good at keeping it at bay. What is it?" He asked. "It's none of your business, Lewis. Or any of you." I said. About that secret, I haven't really told Joy, or anyone in particular. "Maddie, let me say something. We're your friends. You don't need to hide anything from us, because we'll support you with whatever you're going through! That's what friends are for." He said.

"You're probably right. I guess I should work out my trust issues."

"So, what is it bothering you?"

I took a deep breath. "I'm currently looking for my family." I said. "Don't you have your mother?" He asked. I guess he's got the wrong idea. "Pitch told me when we were in the lair about mother's story with my real mother. They were best of friends, and my mother gave me away. I'm guessing there's a reason behind that, so I want to know why." I told Lewis. "And you asked Jamie and Mantara about it?" I nodded. "I asked Mantara to find information about my true family, and Jamie told me that they have one information." I said. "What is it?" Lewis asked, seems he's pretty excited. "It's their location, and the name they were supposed to give me." I told him.

"Your supposed to be name? What is it?"

"Alexandria Mionette."

Lewis chuckled. "Too fancy." He said. "Yeah! That's what I thought too." I told him. "If you find them, will you be Alexandria Mionette?" I shook my head. "Even if I do, and they tell me to be her, I'll say I have only one name. It's Madeline Crown." I seem to be the ally of justice now. I guess telling them earlier wasn't really that bad. They're my friends, after all. "Are you gonna tell Joy later?" Lewis asked, and I nodded in reply. "I sure will! Joy's my best friend after all." I told him with a big smile on my face. He smiled back. "Let's go home now! It's really cold!" He said and we raced to our homes.

"Joy I have something to tell you!"

Joy carried bags of chips. "You shopped for those?" I asked. "Well yeah! It seemed to be the perfect opportunity for ye and Lewis so I sneaked off." I glared at her. "Well, whatever. I have something important to tell you!" She opened a bag of chips and ate. "Wot is it?" I sighed. "Will you, Lewis, Dane and Avery help me find my family?" Joy stopped munching, and looked at me for a second. "Ye mean ye want to go back to yer mother? I thought ye said she's crazy!" She exclaimed. I knew it, she's thinking the same as Lewis did.
