I stood there in the freezing cold, biting my lip. A beanie on my head, knee high boots, matched with a pair of my favourite blue denim jeans, and a woollen jumper. I'm walking the streets, wondering if I'll ever find you in this forbidden city of lost treasures. I have this gut-wrenching feeling you're here somewhere. My eye site is blown away from the shadows of darkness in the alleyways. I turn around to see you standing right in front of the cinema mall with another girl. Tall, blonde hair, blue eyes, how beautiful to the eye, I call out to him.He looks around and in a split second, all his attention is focused on the brown eyed girl in the blue jeans. He runs towards me as my eye starts to water slightly. The boy I've been searching for is standing right in front of me. He wraps his arms around me as I smile uncontrollably. We stop to stare into each other's eyes, as I run my fingers through his hair, and without a sound made we share a passionate kiss. No one knows how many times I've dreamt of this moment. I crave the luxurious serenity of his love.
His smile brings me happiness, as he wraps his arms around me once again. His hand collides with mine, as he held it tight we walked the once lonely streets together. I stare up at his face as he looks the other way, he has perfect facial features. He's sliming nose follows his predominant cheekbones, his bright green eyes are mesmerising to look at, and his gentle skin makes me feel numb as he holds my hand.
The first words were spoken. "It's been so long since I've heard your voice". He looked down at me and smiled graciously as he kissed me on the cheek. I only felt as if I was safe if I was kept in his arms, nothing could harm me, or reach me. At this point, nothing could go wrong.
"Get up! You're late for school! You're such a mess, and you've slept past your alarm again. Honestly, I'm not sure how you're going to find a husband when you look like a slob, and have everyone do everything for you, now get up!"
Yes, hello world.
I've woken up to a screaming dragon and dumb and dumber standing at my door.Im Evelyn. I'm basically your average 16 year old girl, I have two brothers, (who are obviously my mums favourites) I'm in the 11th grade, and I'm going to be really cliche and say i'm love with a 18 year old boy. I'm a writer, and I wrote that short story based on a dream I had last night. I guess some of the best writers base their stories on dreams and life experience, right?
I have goals, huge goals, I'm definitely a dreamer, I always wanted to write books, have people want me to sign my books, tell me my books helped them, helped them get through the toughest times, I want my books to make a statement and make a difference in someone's life, I want to be someone's inspiration to do something amazing with their life even if they're being constantly dragged down. I want them to be inspired by what I write in my pages, just like my dad was my inspiration. He never doubted I could do it, but after he passed away, it's as if my writing ability was taken away from me when he died, my inspiration shrivelled up into dust particles and spat into the polluted world.
There's a part of me that's missing, writing used to come to me so easy, and now it's as if I need a reason to write.
"I'm not going to tell you again, GET UP!"
Monday morning.
I don't think I've ever met a person who loves a Monday. I have counselling today, the school recommends I have one or two counselling sessions per fortnight."Good morning, Evie, how are you feeling today?"
"Hi, Natalie, I'm okay, can we talk about something different today?"
I asked her as I sat down in the chair. "Sure, we can talk about whatever you want"."I had this strange dream the other night, you might think I'm crazy, but I was with this boy and..."
I was interrupted.
"You're not talking about that boy Aiden are you? He's 18 Evie, he's overseas, you might not see him again. You don't have to wait for him you know, you have been for years..." she proclaimed.
"Yes I know, and I know what the consequences are, and besides, he's over there trying to peruse a music career.Look, I didn't come to you for a lecture, if I wanted one of those I would of stayed at home. Will you please just listen to what my dream was?"
"Alright, continue".
"Okay, so I wrote it out so I wouldn't forget it, and filled in some minor details, but it's basically what happened". I passed her my notebook, her head fell down to her chest, her eyes glued to the pages as she read my fantasy.
"So, what do you think?"
"I don't think you understand where I'm coming from Evie, from what you've told me in previous sessions, he's moved on, he's been with other girls, and yes, you two did date when he was here, but you know you have to move on, he has, now it's your turn".
"I know, but there aren't enough hours in a day to sit and day dream about what might happen, you have to go out and get what you want in this world, because we don't live forever and you of all people should know that! You lost your mum almost five years ago; you should know how it feels to have a huge piece of you taken away! I can't bear to sit here and let any more people slip through my fingers. I just can't."
A lump is my throat started to form, and I found it hard to swallow, it was like choking on words.
"I think you better go now Evie. You'll be late for your next class". I got up and left with my head down, as a few tears rolled down my cheek and passed onto my mouth. The salty taste reminded me of the bittersweet memories of heartache.
