Dragging Your Feet
John's POV

BEEP BEEP BEEP

I groan. "Dammit Alexander, turn that fucking alarm off and go back to sleep."

He swings his legs out of bed and stretches.

"I can't. It's move out day and we have to get everything out of here by 3 o'clock. You should get up too."

I grudgingly get out of bed and start to get dressed.

"I think that's it", I say grabbing my turtle plushie (named Leroy) that Alexander gave to me.

"Yup, that's all", he nods. His phone rings in his back pocket and he takes it out to answer it. "Hey....... Great just in time..... Alright bye." He hangs up. "That was Angelica, she's outside with her car for us to load all our stuff in."

Since neither one of us has a car, one of the Schuyler sisters was always driving us somewhere

It only took two trips to get everything down stairs and into to Angie's pink car since we didn't have that much stuff to bring down and both Angelica and Eliza helped.

"Ready?", ask Angelica.

"Yup, let's go", says Alex.

We drove off campus to my apartment, well technically our apartment now. Alex and I have been living there whenever we got break from school. While I do love this place, and we've made some great memories, I'm ready to move out into to someplace bigger. Maybe even a house. Ah whatever, I'll talk to Alex about it later.

"Do you guys wanna come to Lafayette's job in about and hour?", ask Eliza. "The whole The Squad™ is gonna be there. Plus Thomas." Lafayette works at a little coffee shop not far from our house.

"What do you think babe?", I ask, looking at Alex.

"Yeah I'm down." He smiles.

"Mkay see you there."

We finished unpacking, for the must part, so we decided to head to Lafayette's job early.

"John?", says Alex. We're holding hands as we walk down the street.

"Yeah Alex?"

"We need a car."

I laugh. "Alex Lafayette's job is only 3 blocks away from our apartment. That's walking distance. Besides we're almost there."

"Yeah I know, but what about when we need to go places not in walking distance. I'm tired of taking the bus."

"That's a good point. How about in a few months when we move out into some place bigger, like a house, we'll get a car? And until then…" I swoop him up into my arms and swing him over my shoulder. "I'll carry you." (AN: Oh wow I'm so cheesy)

"John Laurens put me down!", he screams.

"Nope", I say, and continue to carry him down the street.

He keeps squirming, even as we arrive to the bakery. When I set him down on the pavement, he crosses his arms and pouts. I chuckle at him.
