(I want preface this by apologizing in advance for any spelling errors. I dropped my phone in water so now it's acting crazy and I can't edit chapters like I usually do.)

Washington's POV

"George your phone is ringing", Martha says from the kitchen. "It's Alexander."

I walk in and she hands it to me. I answer.

"Hello Alexander", I answer. How are you and John?"

"We're doing great sir. You and Martha?"

"We're fine, thank you", I say, taking a seat at the table."What can I do for you?"

"Washington, I was calling about the wedding. I want to ask you a favor."

"I'm here to help with anything you need. Also for the last time, call me George."

"Right. George", Alexander says slightly uncomfortably. "You know you and Martha were some of the first few people invited to the wedding.  John and I were talking yesterday, and I decided I really wanted to be walked down the aisle. And considering my only father figure is you..."

(AN- Hey before you leave any negative comments plz read the author's note at the end of the book)

I can't believe what I'm hearing.
"Alexander Hamilton are you asking me to walk you down the aisle at your wedding?"

"Uh yes sir, if you'd be comfortable with that. I mean it's perfectly fine if you're not because-", he begins to ramble.

"Alexander-", I interrupt, my voice cracking.

"Sir are you crying?", he ask.

I quickly wipe away happy tears. "No, that was a cough", I lie. "Son I'd be honored to walk you down the aisle."

I hear a sigh of relief from the other end. "Thank you so much. This means the world."

"The pleasure is mine son."

"Goodbye...dad", he says.

"Goodbye Alexander."

I hang up the phone and turn to my wife. "Martha he asked me to walk him down the aisle!"

"Yes I know George, I was standing here the whole time", she says.

"And guess what? He called me Dad! And he wasn't even being sarcastic this time."

She laughs. "I'm happy for you."

John's POV

"John he said yes!", yells Alex, running around the house like a child.  He's still excited, even though their phone call was more than 2 hours ago.

"Alex I know. I was in the room when you were on the phone", I say from the couch, watching him run around our apartment.

He eventually collapses on the couch. He lays his head on my lap. "John I'm so ready to get married."

"So am I. Patience though", I warn. "I want it to be perfect."

"As long as I'm getting married to you, it'll already be perfect", he gushes staring up at me with huge brown eyes.

"God Alex, you're such a sap", I joke.

"Oh you love it", he says. He sits up and climbs in my lap. I bring his lips to mine for a kiss. He pulls away.

"What's wrong?"

"John do you want to have children with me", he asks.

"I swear Alexander you can be so random sometimes", I say.

"I'm serious", he says looking dead at me.

"Of course. And you know this. Once we move, I want to raise children together. I promise", I say holding his hand.

He looks satisfied.

"You are ridiculous", I laugh and we kiss again.

***

Alex cuddled closer to me. Hours had passed and by now it was well into the night and we were still on the couch. Alex had cut on some reality TV show he liked and was fixated on the screen.

Knock Knock Knock

"Who the hell is knocking on our door at 10 o'clock at night?", groans Alex.

"I'll get it", I say. He slides off my lap and I answer the door.

"Jefferson?", I ask, rubbing my eye.

"Hey Turtle boy", he says.

"It's the middle of the night", I say.

"Can we talk?", he asks. I almost walked away. But he looked so defeated..... I felt sorry for him.

"What do you need?", I relent.

"Me and James got into a fight."

"And? You two are always arguing", I say.

"Yeah well this time it was bigger. I did something really dumb, and he left", Jefferson admits.

"Is Thomas Jefferson admitting to making a mistake?", I tease.

"Don't be an ass John", says the king of being an ass. "I'm serious. What if he doesn't come back?"

"He'll come back", I assure him. "Give him time. Whatever you did, it hurt him, but he loves you too much."

"Thanks John."

"You're welcome", I say. "But next time please call before you show up to my apartment."

"Will do. Bye", he says as he turns to walk back to his car. "Oh, by the way, your fly is down."

I look down. I'm wearing sweatpants.

"Made ya look!"

I roll my eyes and I go back in the house.

"Who was it?", asks Alex.

I sit back down. "Just Jefferson."

"What'd he want?"

"Nothing much. Him and James got into a fight over some shit Jefferson did."

"So the usual?", he asks, laying his head in my lap again.

"Pretty much", I smile looking down into his chocolate eyes.

He hums as I twirl his hair.

///

Wow look at me updating early for once. Didn't expect to finish this chapter till Friday.

Hey before you post any negative comments plz consider the fact that I'm not saying that you have to be walk down the aisle. I'm also not trying to imitate heteronormative traditions with my LGBT characters in this book. I just really like the father/son dynamic that Alexander and Washington have. At your wedding you can do whatever you want and you can have anyone you want walk you down the aisle if you choose to do so. (If I ever get married I definitely want my mom to walk me down the aisle, not my dad.)

Bye you beautiful wonderful humans ❤️💛💙
