Highschool.

High.

School.

High-effing-school.

I look past my shoulder and look at the alarm clock beside me. It's 6:59am. The last day of 8th grade at Westbrook was on June 6th, as the last day of summer break was yesterday, and as usual, I wasted it on facebook, youtube and other various social media. I clench my covers and squeeze my eyes, trying to endure the fact that I was going to have to, one way or another, face highschool. Sigh. Might as well enjoy my last minute of slee-

BEEP-BEEP-BEEP

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST

I cringe and look at my alarm and see that It's 7:00am. I sigh and reluctantly get up, and while I get up, I look at the calender above me. "August 27th, 2012"  I guess it's time to face day one at Westbrook High. Man, I couldn't believe I was going to be doing the IB program, as a Freshman at the school with the highest STD rate in Westbrook.

I look at myself at the mirror, and damn, I'm a hot mess. Fluffy thick hair everywhere, my clothes are ruffled and I'm just about as excited as the next child finding out about the new Miley Cyrus.

Knowing I'd be caught dead going to school looking like this, I style my hair and put on decent clothing, and after getting ready, I head down to eat my breakfast. Ever since 7th grade, I usually give myself ten minutes to eat., so that means cereal everyday for the rest of the school year. Again. Woo.

"Good morning Amber," says a thick Asian accent

"Morning Mommy," I reply.

Pretty much the only reason I was going to IB was cause of the approval; after countless attempts of persuasion; of my Mom, Susan Chang. She's your average Asian Mom. Strict, behind on the new generation, annoying and loud. Ok, maybe even louder. But hey, I love the lady.

I glance at the microwave clock and see that It's 8:15am. I put on my backpack and carry my Violin case, then head out the door and go to the bus stop. Yay....

You know what I hate about the bus? Even in there, it has social groups. In the front are the quiet people that are always on their phones who never let anyone but their friends sit next to them, in the middle are people that are either really nice or complete jerks, and usually those seats are always completely taken. And the back, filled with all the obnoxious, loud popular jocks and sluts. Combine all of those ranging from 9th-12th graders, and you have the recipe for bus 644. Needless to say, waking up to this will have to get some getting use to.

The bus finally approaches to my stop, and I step onto it. I scan across the aisle hoping to find a free seat, and of course, there's always those kids that stare at you as you enter in. Seriously, like, there's not that much to look at people... Just an Asian in a jacket, shirt and jeans. I ignore their glances, and finally, praise the lord Jesus, there's a free seat, then sit down, get settled and the bus takes off. As the bus is going around the streets, I look at the window next to me, and suddenly, a wave of nostalgia washes over me as we pass by Westbrook Middle School. Man, I'm gonna miss it there, but like they say, forget the past, live today, and never fear your future.

After what seems like forever, the bus finally makes it to WBH. I step off the bus and gaze across the campus, and while looking around, I notice that the grass was slightly green than it was at Murphy. I heard laughter and chatter from every corner around the school, which made me anxious whike I was praying to see my friends, but all I saw were Freshman like me, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. After further examining the campus, I take a deep breath and walk inside the school.

Daaaamn, Inside is HUGE! Hell, it's probably twice the size of Westbrook middle, and that's saying something. I look inside and it is packed with students of all ages, races, and heights, the school name plastered in the colors in Gold, Silver and black across halls. Talk about an upgrade from middle school, but it's not like I'm complaining or anything. I walk around a little and take a glance at my schedule, Room 1209, Period 1, English with Mrs.Harrel. I hear she's one of the only few pretty teachers in school, but like the pretty and popular girls, the pretty teachers are either mean, stuck up, or unbearably stupid. Hopefully she isn't any of those.
