"Man why is this Coach P's room so freaking cold...." I thought to my self, bracing my jacket. Tone down on the AC why don't'cha school.
It was September 8th, which marked the third week of highschool in Westbrook High. Damn, time just seemed to be flying, it feels like just yesterday that I was dreading to get out of bed and arriving to school, but of course, Highschool, so far, has had it's pros and Cons. Pros, I met some awesome new friends and ended up with a class with a cute guy. Cons, It's Highschool, and I'm not sure if I appreciate this Nathan Hoang kid staring at me at the corner of his eye all the damn time, and well well, what do ya know, he seems to be at it again.
Is it me or does he stand up a little too straight and puff up his chest whenever he walks? Then I see him look away quickly, sorry broski, I caught that. Ugh, What a weirdo...
I suddenly get this odd, overwhelming feeling in my chest. I'm not sure if I like it...
During the class period, we were working on "Guided readings" AKA the worksheets Coach P always seemed to hand out. No wonder people say he's the chill teacher, he always lets us work with partners and talk the entire period. Being the lazy friend, and Veronica being the smarty McSmartass one, she did all the work and I just copied, so usually we get out work done fast.
"Man, that was easy." I said while returning to my seat.
"I did all the work...." Said Veronica unimpressed.
I let it off with a laugh, but at the same time almost bumping into Nathan. Man, can someone say awkward? You're probably thinking, it's not THAT awkward. Well add in 3 seconds of emotionless eye contact from him and you got a recipe for awkward I'll tell ya that.
Thump-Thump-Thump
Ok, why does this always happen? Reassuring my self, I. Do. Not. Like. Nathan. In fact, I despise the guy. He's nothing more than an emotionless, abnormally quiet, wannabe badass, K-Poppy looking weirdo.....With nice flippy hair.
"Oh hey Veronica." I hear a deep voice say.
I tweak my head a little to the right and am surprised that Nathan was making conversation with Veronica. What the hell. Are those two friends? And what happened to the awkward, quiet Nathan with a high pitched voice? Puberty is a hell of a drug.... Ok, not a drug but you know what I mean.
"Hey Nathan!" Veronica said in her usual happy tone.
I rotate my head even more and am shocked that someone as nice and chill as Veronica, would be friends with an expressionless and emotionless person like Nathan. I didn't like the fact that they were talking, not one bit.
Being the nosy person I am, I decided to listen on into their conversation. I assumed they met in Orchestra last year cause they both played Viola and were in the same orchestra class. So that made me think, if someone like Veronica is ok with a person like Nathan, does that mean I have been misjudging Nathan all this time?
....
Nah.
There was plenty of undeniable proof that he creeped on me in Middle School, and acknowledging the fact that he has the ability to make conversation is not going to make me change my mind about him. Not one bit.
Suddenly, Veronica bursts into laughter which interupts my thoughts. I wonder what made her laugh like that, but I was pretty sure it wasn't cause of Nathan. I look at Nathan and notice that he's smiling and laughing too...Ok, so maybe he's also capable of telling a joke or two, but it's nothing special right?
But....That smile though.
Thump-Thump-Thump
Goddammit not again.
