I starred at him blankly. He couldn't be serious, right? This was gonna to be painful, I'd have to drain his blood just enough to leave him on the verge of death, practically hanging on to life by a strand. Worst of all he'd feel all of it. Plus, I've been craving his blood so much that there was a chance I wouldn't be able to stop.
"Grian," I began slowly, "this is a dangerous thing you're asking me to do. You don't understand the consequences that this could have. You could die."
"I know that, but that doesn't change my decision," He spoke confidently, "Besides, if you won't do it, I'll find someone else who will."
I sighed, "This is going to hurt, and I mean worse then before."
"That's okay, I can handle it," He looked me in the eyes.
I couldn't believe this was about to happen, and not in a joyous way either. This was risky, even if he did survive, I'd have to keep him close, at least, until he learned. And he'd have to be let in on my secret, which father was not going to like.
I lead Grian to the bed and had him lie down, I wanted him to be as comfortable as possible during this process. He gave me a reassuring smile before I dipped my head down and sunk my fangs into his neck.
---
It was quiet, quieter than usual. I suppose that was to be expected, my room was quiet on purpose. But, considering everything, this quiet wasn't comforting. It felt strange, foreign almost. Though there was barely a difference. I guess it had something to do with it being gone for so long. It felt lonely, my room felt empty, cold. Just like it had before.
It almost felt odd to have been just sitting here, doing nothing but wait. Wait for the time to pass, wait for the one I loved to open his eyes. I wasn't sure how long it had been, time felt like it was slowing down.
I caressed the hand that lay between mine, occasionally playing with it's fingers. He was still warm, which was a good sign. His breathing level, heart slowly beating. The wound on his neck had long healed, disappearing not too long after I pulled away.
I wasn't sure how to fill the time. How did Dom last through this? There was a part of me that felt calm and knew that everything would be fine, while the other part of me wouldn't be satisfied until Grian was up and moving around again. I knew what would happen as soon as he woke up too. He might be a little scared, but judging by how much he wanted this, he'd be fine. He'd have to learn how to live again. How to run, jump, eat, drink. Everything would be a whole new process, and he had all the time in the world to figure it out.
I was tired of sitting, I wanted to go for a run, stretch my legs, but I couldn't leave his side, I had to be here when he woke up. He needed me, I was responsible for him, it was my job to teach him everything he needed to know, even how to pretend to be a normal vampire. I knew he would be like me, he'd have emotions, at least he'd get to keep those. He'd have trouble with abilities that were supposed to come naturally. But that was okay, because he's have me, and I knew exactly what he was going through, more or less.
I perked up when I heard him groan, his heart reaching a normal pace. I scooted closer to him, lifting up his hand and placing a kiss on it, still holding it close. Fearing that if I let it go he wouldn't make it.
His eyes slowly fluttered open, darting around the room, trying to remember his surroundings before they finally fell on me. He gave a small smile, he was still a little weak and I was surprised he was holding it together.
"Hey," his voice came out a little raspy due to the fact that he had screamed and he was thirsty.
"Don't hold it back Grian, that's not good. I know you need to drink something," I looked him in his eyes just as they were beginning to turn red.
He didn't get to respond before he pounced on me, his sharp fangs digging into my skin. I allowed myself to fall backwards on the bed. I've been bitten before, after all it was a common tactic, our bites are infused with aphrodisiacs, but it's never felt like this. It was stronger somehow, maybe it was due to the halfling part of it all, it tended to have different effects. Did my bites feel like this?
My train of thought was cut off by my own moan, I quickly remembered that I was supposed to be teaching Grian, but I couldn't seem to care. After all, it wasn't like he could kill me. Vampires regenerate faster than we can drain, it's why we can only be burned or be snapped in two.
"G-Grian, you have to stop," I pushed lightly against him, not wanting to hurt him. Then I remembered that I couldn't hurt him as easily now. I gripped his hair and pulled him off. The red slowly drained from his eyes, his fangs slowly going back into hiding. My blood dripped from his mouth. He licked his lips, "Sorry."
"No problem," I looked him over, letting go to his hair. He sat up on my stomach, his eyes staring down at me before he gasped, "I'm a vampire."
I chuckled, "Yes, Grian, you're a vampire."
"What can we do? I want to go outside. Can we run fast? I want to run fast!" He spoke quickly, slowly rising off me.
"Woah, woah, slow down there. We have to give it at least a day, your legs need to slowly get adjusted after that. Baby steps Grian," I advised him.
He slumped back down with a pout on his face, "Then what do we do in the meantime?"
I smirked, "I think you know what we can do in the meantime."
He tilted his head to the side, "What?"
I leaned up, pulling him down slightly and connecting our lips together. He returned my kiss with a passionate and needy one, as if he didn't realize how much his body was craving it. I pulled away, almost laughing at his whine.
"Why?" He asked.
"Why what?"
"Why'd you pull away?"
"Well, it wouldn't be fun if I just let us continue like that forever," I said as if it was obvious.
He shoved me back down onto the bed, I had forgotten how strong new borns were. He smirked at how easily he did that. I pointed at him with my figure, "This is just because you're bodies getting used to things. Don't think for a second that this is how it's going to be all the time."
"Whatever you say," he giggled, bitting his bottom lip. He leaned down and pulled me into another heated kiss. This was going to be fun.
