Saviors

 (20 minutes before)

“Lina, why would I ever want to touch your delicates?” I raised an arm over my eyes, blocking the sudden brightness that filled my room. Lina, a very close friend of mine, practically sister, came storming into my room, at what? 1:03a.m. I groaned loudly and rolled out of my bed to face Lina, who was glaring up at me and tapping her foot impatiently, crossing her arms over her chest irritated. She bore into me with her vibrant green eyes, her ink like hair slightly messed.

Lina surprisingly terrified me, when she was in one of her moods, like this, where she couldn’t find something, she would blame everyone around her, accusing them of stealing it, and it was me turn to take the blame.

“Well they didn’t just grow legs and walk off, Andrew.” She puffed her cheeks out, flustered. She had lost her favorite bra with little pink poka-dots on them and she was accusing me of stealing them. I mean I was a guy, but would she really think that I would steal them for some creepy obsession that she thought I had with woman’s clothing?

I rolled my eyes, “and I didn’t take them,” I was a vampire, 18 years old, but I’ve been living on this world a lot longer time than that, around 200 years now. I was an older vampire too, thanks to the shifter war that I was a big part of. I had been the main guard for the princess of the shifters, Kitalia, and I had been in love with her as well. That now such a little thing as the witch in front of me could scare me was ridiculous. And the fact that I’d met her surrounded by three men nearly two times her size, all of them bloody, had helped convince me there was more that then met the eye with Lina.

“Then where—“ Lina began, then stopped, looking around the room, “did you hear that?” I looked down at her, confused.

“No, what?” I was too distracted to notice anything around me; like how my hair looked, my usually perfect brown hair was probably messed and I probably had dark circles under my dark brown, almost black eyes. I winced at the thought.

Lina exited my room and walked into the sitting room, listening intently to what she thought could have been a scream. I followed reluctantly because Lina was most likely to wander off and explore, and if I wasn’t there to protect her, she might unleash her witch powers on the people. Suddenly a blood-chilling scream sounded, so Lina was right when she said that she heard something.

“What was th—“I started to say by Lina cut me off, running towards the balcony that overlooked the alley way.

“Sh, come here,” Lina looked over the balcony into the alley. I walked beside her, seeing two figures, one hunched over the other protectively.  Two wooden spears stuck out from the one who was most visible.

“It’s a vampire, and he’s protecting a human,” Lina gasped surprised, I was even baffled by this. Most vampires didn’t keep humans around because it was to temping to just bite them and suck their blood dry.

“Well I’ll be damned,” I continued to watch the scene unfolding in front of my very own eyes. Four people gathered around the others, I noticed them as SS members. A werewolf dragged the vampire off from the human, relieving a human male, who looked terrified. The vampire struggled in the werewolves grip, making the wooden spears dig into his skin, but he was determined to get away the werewolf and protect his human.
