‡ Nightmarish Memory ‡

"No, no, no. Keep your eyes open!"

In a heated battle near the ruins of the old castle of Hyrule, one ray of light had fallen to the darkness.

"I'll g-get you out of here. Don't worry."

A panicking Hero in blue avoided a strike from the enemy as he rolled sideways, immediately approaching his companion who is groaning in pain. He scoops her up in his arms before ducking in order to avoid yet another attack.

"Link.." the girl drawls out, her head lolled to the side as blood prickled down her lips.

The monster was too strong. It was a Lynel, too. It came out of nowhere and attacked them in a split second. He was the first one charging at it in the first place, when something distracted him momentarily. The moment he looked at it again, it was gone.

"You are not going to die here. Stay with me!" the blonde answers, occasionally looking back and running to the side to avoid the enraged creature.

He can't loose her.

The monster roared in fury as it bent over and ran towards them like a bull, it's horns pointed straight forward to them.

He isn't quick enough to avoid.

The girl, however, is stealthy. She struggled with all her might and fell out of the Hero's strong hold on her, and pushed him away from her. Earning a gasp and a cry of surprise just as the lynel's horns pierced through the girl's stomach. A painful scream resonated out in the battlefield, along with a shout of anguish and denial.

"Aah!" a blonde man exclaims as he bolted upwards from the soft mattress of his bed, sweating and panting heavily as he loosened his tight grip on the blankets.

It was that nightmare again.

It happened so many times in a row, this used to be rare. But now, it's a lot more frequent than before.

He keeps seeing that girl dying in his dream, and he can see someone with his appearance trying to take her to safety. Only for him to loose her. He doesn't know what it's for, or why he had it, but it showed up a lot.

A knock on the door to his room began, and he called out silently for the person to enter.

A female in her nineteen's appeared in the room, the light from the hallway illuminating her soft brown hair. The leader of the kingdom, Zelda.

"I was passing by and you seemed troubled, what is the cause?" she questions, taking a seat on the bed with a frown.

The blonde; named Link, sighs and averts his look. It's quite embarrassing to say that he awakened from a nightmare, he's supposed to be the role model, after all. He is the elder sibling. Alas, when he didn't reply, Zelda sighs. "It's that nightmare again.. isn't it?" she mutters lowly. Concerned for the well being of her brother. The latter simply exhales through his nose, dismissing her worry off with a reassuring smile.

"No worries. It's just a nightmare, I'm okay. You should go to sleep." he suggests.

The brown haired female flinches at this, she knows that the dream probably made her sibling confuse or upset, but then again; she never knew what it's about.
