BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

Fucking hate that alarm. Everyday I wish I didn't wake up to that awful noise. Sometimes I wish I didn't wake up at all. But everyday I still get out of bed, have a shower and try to look somewhat respectable for school.

"JAMES HURRRY UP YOU SHIT" and that would be my dad. He's always mad for some reason. Probably because I'm a failure. He wants me to be the perfect son, but that's never going to happen is it? I ran downstairs to find everyone sitting at the table, including my older, better brother. My dad loves him way more than he's ever loved me.

I sit down and eat my breakfast. It's not much, just a piece of toast and an apple. Crap!I'm going to be late for school. Although that's not entirely horrible. It means I'll miss my daily beating from the assholes. Great considering this would be the 3rd time this week. I run out of the house and down the street, grabbing my school bag on the way out.

And of course I arrive 15 minutes late exactly. I get to my classroom and receive glares from class mates, stopping Mrs Godden in the middle of her sentence. "James you're late, again...." I slump down in my seat at the back of the room, shooting her a look telling her that I obviously don't give a flying fuck.

Suddenly another person runs into the class room. "I'm so sorry I'm late! I couldn't find the classroom and-" "ah you must be Tyler, take a seat next to James" He walks over and sits in the empty sit beside me and gives me a smile, a warm, friendly smile. I haven't had someone smile like that to me in a long time. "Hi I'm Tyler." He says, continuing to smile. "Uh hi um I'm James" I think he noticed how nervous I was, because he looked at me kindly, signalling that it's ok. I'm not sure why I was nervous to begin with. "It's nice to meet you James. Do you know where E317 is?" I nod "Um yeah. You have maths there right?" I ask. "Yeah I do." "I can show you where that is because that's where I have to go there next too." He smiled again.

"Thanks James. I think we are going to be good friends" he says still smiling. "Uh yeah I think so too" I say, maybe a little bit too enthusiastically. But Tyler still smiles. The bell goes, signalling the start of first period. The walk to maths was pretty quiet except for a couple questions he had.

I can tell this will be good for the time it lasts.
