I'm not a kidnapper! You have to believe me! Please, oh please."
Hmm, I uttered, "And what would be a good reason to base my 'belief' on?", I said sarcastically.
He said, "Well, the phone which this whole conspiracy is based on was not mine in the first place..."
"Really?", I said in disbelief.
"Yes, yes I promise! I will also prove it to you", He said.
Almost as if it was a reflex, I said,"How."
"So...", He began. "I was at work, in the Bank as usual. You know my friend Ralph? Oh! Marie's dad. It was his phone."
Marie was one of my very nice and cool school friends.
My jaw dropped, it felt as if my mouth was permanently open, and would never shut no matter how hard I tried.
I said,"What now? Marie is one of the nicest people I kn-"
My dad cut me off. He said, "Sure, but his dad is not like that."
I said, now starting to believe him," Even if I do believe you, what is your purpose of going to Hollywood, and at Lake train station the other day.
"Dylan, I am your dad. I love you with all my heart. I never went to Lake train station, the other day, I went to work to pick up some documents." Then, a few days later, I saw you at the airport the same day you left with Ross and Amy, I was there because my colleague was relocating to Singapore and I wanted to see him off.", He cried.
Tears started coming out of my eyes. I had doubted my dad blindly. There was no reason for me to get this feeling. I said that I was sorry and got closer to him, and I hugged him. I then felt quite forced, as if I was trapped. My dad had put chloroform on a napkin that he was carrying.
The next thing I know is that my eyes just opened in a pitch black room with one tiny window, which was still very difficult to see outside from. I then heard a mild creek as the door opened. My dad stealthily walked in.
"Oh! Hey Dylan!", He said cheerfully as if nothing had ever happened.
I tried not to talk to him or pay any attention to his rotten face.
He said, "As I always say... Never trust anyone blindly..."
"No matter how close", I finished.
I was a part of his trap! He kidnapped his own child, if I was even his child.
Dylan, want to hear a story? I am not your dad. Your mom never died. She is safe and sound in the city of New York. Your dad, your real dad is dead though.I looked at him with pure rage and anger, and yelled - WHY?
"Why, Matthew Temple?", I said as he wasn't my dad.
"Oh, its John Watson, he interrupted.
He lied about his name? For so many years of my life, I was calling this random stranger who claimed to be my dad by the wrong name. Brilliant.
"When was I kidnapped?", I asked.
"When you were approximately a year and a half."
He continued, "Your dad's name is... who cares? I don't remember it. He died before I kidnapped you. Your mom's name though is Felicia, Felicia Abbott." This name sounded very oddly familiar.
"So, I'm guessing my name is Dylan Abbott?", I asked.
"Oh, no. Your name isn't even Dylan in the first place. Its Adam, Adam Abbott."
