Chapter 1: It has begun.

Shiro's POV

I opened my eyes for what seemed to be the first time in forever.

Everything was blurred and my head was spinning, making my head pound uncontrollably.

Once everything cleared and most of my pounding head was gone, I looked around the lab, or what was left of it.

The lab walls had broken down and we're just rubble. Everything was gone. The wasteland could be seen. The explosion seemed to collapse the whole building. Nobody was left. I could see some body parts, but they were all so fucked up that I could not recognise any of them.

Goddamn it Matt, what did you do?

Suddenly, I heard groans from around the corner.

'Hello! Who's there!?'

The groans got louder as I neared a block of concrete that survived the explosion. As I got to the edge of the concrete, the groans stopped. As the sounds stopped, I stopped too.

Suddenly, somthing jumped around and pushed me down.

I looked in its eyes. Blank sockets of nothing was inside them.

I recognised the creature as it neared me. It was one of the experiments that we were working on. The one that Matt must have unleashed on Earth. How did it survive? How did I survive?

It pounced on me and started knawing at my neck. My scream would haunt anyone for days.

I tried to push it of with both of my arms, but only my left arm did so. I looked down to see that my right arm was missing.

I screamed in agony as the creature tried to chomp down on my neck once again to finish the job.

I closed my eyes and braced myself for impact, but none came.

I opened my eyes and looked up to see that a bullet had gone straight through the creatures head.

A man in the distance came rushing over to me.

"Are you oka-" He paused when he looked at my arm "Holy quiznack- Allura come quickly, he's got a fucking limb missing gosh darnit!" He shouted to a girl, who was wearing a white, long dress, in the distance with a distinctive British accent.

The man had ginger hair, a fine ginger 'tash and blue eyes. He was wearing tattered army gear.

The girl, Allura, quickly came over and looked at me, but instead of the arm, she saw the bite on my neck.

"Coran," Allura tapped the man and pointed at my wound.

"He's bit."

Quickly, Coran picked me up and carried me on his back.

"We need to get him to the base as quick as possible," Coran insisted.

They ran to the car, laid me in the back, got in the front and then raced away from the laboratory.

It was then that everything would go dark.

"He's awake!" A familiar voice called out to me.

I opened one eye on instinct, but I straight away shut them before the white light above me blinded my eyes.

"Just take it slow," The same voice said to me. I recognised the voice to be belonging to Coran.

My left arm moved to shield my eyes from the light and then opened both of my eyes.

My vision was blurred as I looked around the room.
