Johnny's POV

I stepped into the bright light and suddenly felt like I was floating. I felt that way until my feet made contact with the ground, and I few moments later I could see again; I was standing right in front of the Moon Theater. I ran inside quickly.

"Hello?" I called. I heard many footsteps coming in my direction.

"Johnny?" Mr. Moon's voice called out.

"Yeah, it's me!" I said, turning the corner to find him standing there with everyone else.

"Johnny, where have you been?"

"Where were you?"

"Why did you leave?" They all said at once.

"You wouldn't believe where I went."

"Well, it better be good, you were gone for two months," Ash mumbled.

"Well it-wait, two months?!"

They all looked at each other, confused. "You knew you were gone for two months, right?" Rosita added.

I felt a bit dizzy. Two months? I was barely gone for two weeks. "What do you mean?—I was gone for a few weeks."

"No, you were gone for two months. There was a search party and everyone was looking for you," Mr. Moon said.

"But how can that be?"

"I don't know, you're the one who left us without even telling us where you were going," Ash sassed.

"But- I-I..." I was at a loss for words, but I need to tell them, about what happened, about her.

"I didn't mean to leave. I was taken by a magic portal to a world with humans—you know, the old myths—they're real!"

They stared at me like u was crazy.

"You okay, Johnny?" Rosita asked.

"You need a doctor?" Meena added.

"Please, believe me. I wouldn't lie to you."

Rosita walked up to me and grabbed my hands. "Johnny, are you feeling okay?"

"Rosita, I'm fine, really."

"Are you sure? You were gone for so long and—"

"They're real! I met one and talked to them."

They don't believe.

"Guys.." I said, at a loss for words. I knew I was home and all, but it felts so different than it did before. I thought I would be happy once I got back. But then I thought of her, that I couldn't see her soon, and I felt... empty.

Why did I feel like I wanted to goo back—that's crazy, this is my home—not a world that I need to hide from.

But this world doesn't have her.

I want to see her again.
