You pull over and see bertholdt in the rain hunched under a roof of the allie he told you to meet him by, You step out of the car and walk over slowly and stand in the rain.
"I could have done it," He says and you stare, "I wasn't afraid"
You let the rain wash down your face and trickle down the coat, "But I couldn't get you out of my head" You bite your lip and kneel beside him, "If I'm the reason then forget me and go after her"
He shakes his head, "I am not your girlfriend, she is, Go after her"
"You wouldn't have done that to me," He says and you sit beside him, "Didn't you want it?"
"No actually, I don't want that... I just want... somebody to talk to" You laugh slightly and pet his head, "you're pathetic you know that right?" You smile at him, "Come on you're going to get soaked" You mother him and he grabs your hand tightly, "I-i don't want to lose you"
"Bertholdt-" "No! I lost my mother, I am losing my dad and now I've lost Annie... Reiner left me and now... you will too"
"if I was going to leave you would I drive all the way here in the pouring rain?" You lean your head on his shoulder, "Promise me"
You look at him, "Promise you what?" "Promise me that no matter what, you'll be by my side"
"I promise bertholdt" You grab his hand and squeeze. "And just for the record, you are all I have too"
"I know we've only been friends for three months but it feels like forever" You said, "it been the greatest three months... of M-my L-life" He mutters and you stand up.
"Lets not go home, we have four days till school starts again, lets go to my grandparents" You help him up and he towers over you.
"B-but-" "Bertholdt, this will be fun." You open the car doors and he sits beside you as you get in the driver's seat.
The rain poured even harder, "Buckle up buttercup" You grin and he smiles slightly and buckles, "Thank you" Bertholdt said, "No problem bertholdt"
