Chapter 5: "Ill Never Go"

My alarm rings in my ear and causes me to groan and yawn. I grab it off the nightstand behind me as I'm snuggled up to Boops with my arms around him, my legs partially. I silence the alarm and feel him move a little as he flick his ear. I smile and kiss the top of his head. He softly hums a little.

Feeling a bit groggy today.. probably because we didn't move at all yesterday

"Thank god it's the weekend.." I say softly to myself, he hums happily and softly again.

I pull him a bit closer and softly rub his head. He lifts his head and tries to nuzzle into my neck, giving me a peck on the cheek.

"Morning, babe.." He yawns.

"Morning, love." I respond with a smile.

We lay in the same position for some time, him and I nod off and fall back asleep and wake up again.

"Okay.. we gotta get up if we're gonna get breakfast.." I say softly, chuckling.

"Mmm I'm up.. I'm up!" He presses down on my chest to lift himself off of me. His ear folded, one eye stuck shut.

I laugh softly and place my hand on his.

"IHOP?" I ask, tilting my head.

"Don't ever leave me." He pecks my lips.

"Never crossed my mind.." I place my hand in the back of his head and kiss him back on the lips.

He climbs off of me and stretches, I sit up and do the same.

Now that we're settled. I can finally introduce myself. My name is Shadow. German Shepherd with some odd red markings. Army infantry background. While short lived, it was eventful. I've been told that I'm outgoing, protective, friendly and approachable. Just don't mistake my kindness for weakness. Got in the field of I.T. and Cyber Security while I was young. Lived in Massachusetts all my life and now reside in Boston with my boyfriend, Boops. A mint blue fennec fox.

We've both had an eventful last couple years together as friends before lovers.. we always had feelings for each other, but never acted on it until August of 2017.

Through time, we were able to see each other. I flew over into his state and stayed at a hotel for a week.. After just laying eyes on him for the first time in person for a second, I couldn't help myself, but bear hug him tightly in the hotel hallway. We eventually kicked it off since we were both overwhelmed and getting acclimated... it's a time I'll never forget, but there were more than just one visit.. I'll dwell into that later.

I walk into the bathroom and strip down lazily, leaving a trail of clothes behind me. I turn on the shower and let out a sigh as I feel the hot water splash into me. I suddenly hear the door open and then a slight scoff to follow.

"No fair, this is twice in a row you got to shower first~.." I hear Boops mumble.

I open up the curtains.

"Then shower with me hun, just like yesterday." I smile as he blushes a little and gives in. He hops into the shower with me and we wash up. As I start to climb out of the shower, I smack his butt and almost cause him to fall by accident, I slightly cringe with a smile.

"S-Shadow..!" He mewls as he blushes.

"Hmm? What's up?" I act like nothing has happened. He pins his ears to his head and mewls again as he passes. I think about smacking his butt again, but stop myself so I don't make him angry.

His ear twitches and lightly punches my arm before smiling and turning around.

We dry off and throw some clothes on. It's getting a bit chilly this time of year. I pick up my phone and check the date and time.
