Chapter Nine

"God why am I so nervous Jace?"

"Well you're getting married today man, it's normal. Just calm down." Jace says putting his hand on my shoulder. I look over at Jace and nod.

"I know I should calm down but what if I mess up? What if he says no?"

"Alec! He propsed to you for a reason. What did he say when he proposed to you, think back to that day. Was Everything he said true?"

"Yes."

"Do you love him?"

"Very much."

"Then everything will be fine."

I take a deep breath and nod my head, "I know." I say and fix the tie on my suit, "I'm ready."

*time skip*

I stand out side the wooden doors and take a deep breath, memories flooding my mind during all the years we've been together.

"I----I........ Don't know w-why I'm here. I-im so s-sorry. I'll go."

Alec slowly turned away and when he was almost down the hall I yelled for him.

"Wait! You obviously came for a reason, even if you don't know it yet. And it's starting to rain and it doesn't help that your highly intoxicated and easier to kidnap than you once were."

He stopped and looked at me and I could clearly see all the pain in his eyes. His eyes weirdly looked different too. He looked down at me and nodded.

I walked him inside and sat him on the couch. I sat next to him too and used my magic to at least make some of that drunk mind slightly better.

"Why are you here though Alec?"

"I don't k-know. One m-minute I'm in b-bed drinking and then I-I'm walking out o-of the institute t-to come here."

I noticed his stutter came back. Which hurt me more because it only happens when he's scared/nervous.

"Alec are you nervous? Or scared?"

Alec looked at me slowly and closed his eyes.

"A- a little b-bit of b-both."

"Alec---."

"I'm sorry! I-I miss you like crazy and w-what I did was wrong. B-but what y-you did was wrong t- to. Instead of listening to me You l-left me. In that subway with C-Camille."

"Did she do something Alec?"

"Maureen punched m-me. But n-no-one knows this but w-hen Maureen walked off C-Camille threatened to kill me if try to f-find her again."

"Again?"

"W-hen you left me. I-I wanted to try and k-kill her or Maureen. T- to prove something to y-you I guess."

I looked at Alec and leaned in to kiss him. He was slightly taken back but soon relaxed.

When I pulled away I mentally slapped myslef.

"Alec I'm sorry but no matter what, you went behind my back and talked to the one person I dated who was a living hell to be with and your mortal Alec. One day you won't be here and I have to go through that pain."

"M-Magnus please."

"Alec I'm sorry but you need to leave."

And for the second time I watched the same person I love leave me again.
