"You can look, I'm decent now." The man who claimed I'm his mate said. Roman removed his hand and I opened my eyes. Standing there in only a pair of basketball shorts stood a gorgeous man. Brown messy hair covered his head and hung a bit in his face partially hiding deep brown eyes. A straight strong nose and light pink lips made him seem too beautiful to be a crazy beast but his body said other wise.

Thick bulging muscles covered every inch of him. I realize I was staring and began to feel very awkward. I looked up to Roman to see him frowning. I stepped closer to Roman hoping he understood my small gesture. His frown turned into a small smile and I smiled back. The man named Kane growled making me jump. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scary you." He said softly. I nodded. He sniffed the air and looked confused. "What is a hunter and a god doing together here in Lupusaria?"

"I will explain but only to your alpha and you." Roman replied. Kane nodded and ordered the other wolves with a growl. The wolves nodded and disappeared into the trees.

"I will take you to the alpha but first let's get you both cleaned up and into dry clothes." Kane smiled warmly at me and I returned it. We walked behind Kane and followed him throughout the thick woodland. I watched his back muscles move with each step he took.

This handsome man is my mate. I began to dwelled on that tiny fact. So far he seems nice, plus he's good looking but what if he doesn't want me? Would he let me live a normal life and find someone who would want me? Would I be happy here in Lupusaria? What about Roman? I feel something for him but can it work? He's a god, a king of the gods, and I'm just an orphaned hunter that can't even use her senses correctly. I looked over at Roman and caught him looking down at me. "What's on your mind?" He whispered. Quickly I thought of something.

"Where did all the wolves go?"

"They didn't go anywhere." He said looking down at me. My eyebrow twitched with confusion. "They are surrounding us as we walk, it's a way to keep the important people safe."

"So Kane is so important that he needs protection?" I asked.

"No, well yes, let me explain. Kane is the beta which means second in command. So he is very important but he doesn't need protection."

"Who needs protection then?" I asked.

"You. You're Kane's mate and they take mates seriously. If everything works out between you two then you will be beta female and they will protect you with their life."

If everything works out, 'if' being the key word. I thought. I stayed silent through the rest of the walk. I examined all the beautiful flowers and plants that seemed to grow only in these woods. The flowers were bigger than most that grew back on Earth's dimension. I was a bit disappointed that I didn't see any other animals though. Maybe it had to do with all the wolves being out here.

As the trees began to thin out a house came into view. Soon we entered a huge clearing with a large house sitting in the middle while smaller houses sat around it. "That is the pack house." Kane said pointing to the biggest house that sat in the middle. "The houses around it are for visitors, the top three in command, and other families that don't want to live in the pack house." I saw that we were heading to a smaller house off to the side and grew curious.

"Who's house is this?" I asked. Kane looked back and smiled.

"Mine." Was all he said. We followed him to it and entered. The living room looked to be sort of a man cave. The couches were a black leather with shades of dark blue pillows thrown randomly on it. A large tv was mounted to the wall with multiple game consoles hooked up to it. There was absolutely no sense of a woman's touch. If I'm staying here I will change that! I thought to myself with a smirk. "There's a bathroom in my room and a bathroom in the guest bedroom. You both may shower and I'll get you some clothes." He left the house leaving Roman and I standing there.
