"Wow this is big?!" Ashton gasps as we look around the giant room with a bunch of display cases of trophys and fossils with petrified trees.
"This would be a perfect place for me to study my history class homework!" Sam says running to each case observing each and everything
It's still a work in progress because more than half of the display cases don't even have one thing in them, I think that's because it's a newborn company that's all about the trees.
"Eh, work in progress." I say striding through the book case with a bunch of pamphlets.
"Like to read?" Bit comes by picking up a pamphlet with a happy family eating dinner and there's a dog eating the husbands sandwhich.
"Hm sorta..." I say looking through a random pamphlet I don't even know what I grabbed.
I think this kid is creepy or something he just randomly came up to me greeting like little was a big thing, well, no one in my grade is like that, all the boys are all about beating eachother or trying to impress the ladies but, there is nothing compared to this kid. I wonder if he's socially ackward or never talked to a girl but something calls me that I can't trust him, not yet atleast.
"I read all the time, it's my favorite thing to do." Bit says still reading the same page.
"Oh." I mumble as I put my pamphlet back into the rack it was on.
"I like to read about happy families or a kid that finds his family." He says in a more saddened tone.
I look at him confused like what's going on, is he ok?
"Are you ok?" I ask looking at him playing along.
He looks at me about to say something but it won't come out.
"Attention! Everyone gather around!" A man with a white beard stands at the top of the stairs waiting for everyone's attention.
"I assume your all here for the Tree organization! Am I correct? If not leave and never come back!" The man says trying to be loud enough for all of us.
He looks as if he's in his semi-40s like not too old but I don't know why he has white hair or even a long beard. How's that possible?
"We all have to make our commitments." The man says going on with committing about our souls.
"Ugh when is this over..." Ashton says walking up to me and Bit, along with Sam.
"It hasn't even been a minute." Bit says.
I nod my head in agreement.
"We all have to bow to this sacred tree!" The man says pointing at an old painting of a old tree with roses surrounding it.
"It's so familiar." Sam says squinting.
Everyone bows like it's some kind of Greek god threatening to take their lives. Sam, Bit, and I don't bow.
"Awwwsomon oh waaah." Ashton says bowing like an Egyptian praying in another language.
I slap Ashton in the back of the head in an unpleasant manner to make him stop. Sam and I always hit him in the back of the head if he's doing something wrong or embarrassing.
"Heheh worth it." Ashton says falling over.
"He doesn't look so good, maybe you should fix him?" Bit says touching Ashton with his foot. As Ashton just lays on the floor.
"Ashton get up." Sam says pulling him up.
"Hey guys, Heeeey Bit." As my friend Nicole walks up.
Nicole's my causin, everyone calls her Nikki except for me, Sam, and Ashton. I don't know what Bit says. But somehow it seems like she knows him, a lot.
"Oh no, not this nut head." Bit says holding in his breath.
"Hey, your the nut head! You wouldn't eat the sandwhich I sent you in the mail." Nicole says in a happy way.
"Yeah because it was soggy and gross as well it wasn't in a bag it was in box, and it like 2 weeks old." Bit says laughing.
"Oh, it took that long?" Nicole says tilting her head.
"Oh my god, just pay attention." I say turning everyone's heads toward the man.
"Alright everyone! Let's move into groups."
"There are four groups, the larva, the catapillars, cocoons, and butterflies." The man says gesturing.
After 1 long hour of waiting to be put in groups. They finally reach us, the end of the line. Sam and Ashton were both put in the catapillar group. So that probably means Nicole, Me, and Bit are going-
"Cynthia O'Hare, cacoons." The man yells out.
As I walk toward the cacoon group I get more nervous because everyone knows that's the group where the street gang people are, I guess they all decided to stay in that group because it's not the hardest and it's the right age group for them, also it's the only place they could get into for free or with not having to deal with records.
"Nicole Bohedian! Cacoon." The man says.
"Melody Hiete! Cacoon." The man shouts pointing at my group.
Wow melody is here? I haven't seen her for years. And supposedly she still goes to school with me because she is or was friends with Nicole.
Soon the whole grouping ends and we walk outside.
