( tuesday )

"ian, i swear to god, if you do not stop," felix says angrily. ian has a box cutter, and he's heading for felix's closet.

"first step to moving on is accepting," ian says, turning around quickly, almost stabbing felix with the box cutter, and smiling.

"where'd you get that from?" felix mutters.

"your mom, actually," ian laughs. felix shakes his head, and sighs.

"cole has been bugging me about it since last night. my phone is full of his texts. what if-,"

"stop," ian cuts him off, "if you keep thinking about the 'what ifs', you'll never move on."

felix closes his eyes, "i can't help it."

"yeah, i know, that's why it's my job, as a friend, to help you. you understand what a friend is, correct?" ian asks, giving felix an accusatory look.

"look, cole and i have known each other for a while, but we just started the whole friend thing. it's not gonna be rainbows and daises. we're not hippies, if you've forgotten."

"yeah, don't think i have," ian rolls his eyes, finds the box, and starts to open it. it only takes about a minute to get into, with all the extra tape stuck on it.

now that he can open it, he's not sure if he should. well, there's no going back, he thinks.

when he pulls the flaps aside, he doesn't know what to think, and he knows, all too well, that this was a mistake.

cole knows he shouldn't be back home. cole knows he shouldn't have went to anya's rooftop about an hour ago, and he sure as hell knows he shouldn't be outside of his brothers house right now. even if he stopped all the gang business, he still has that part of him, and his brother is scary, even to cole.

he gets out of his car, shutting the door quietly, and walks to the front door. the house is nice, his brother has a girlfriend now, so you can imagine why.

he knocks, and then he waits.

his brother answers the door, looking uncomfortable as he shifts from foot to foot.

"hi," cole gives him a small smile.

        his brother grimaces. "hello."

"i can't come in?" cole gives his brother a funny look, hoping he'll laugh, and tell him of course, that he's missed him. he doesn't though, he frowns.

"jessica is waiting for me, man. you gotta go," is what he says.

        "your girlfriend? oh-,"

"we're engaged now." is also what he says.

"alright then, i wish you two the best," and that is all cole says, before leaving with a smile.
