Irene's P.O.V

"Please... heal him" Aphmau cried as she slid down hugging the jar.

I clampsed my hands over my mouth to stop the threatening sob that was about to escape.

I have witness such events happen before me. Death of the loved ones, ones I had grown to love so much but was never able to revive them, despite that fact, I have never lost Shad...

And no matter, how many times I have seen this scene happen, people coming to me and begging to return their love ones back, I refused.

I refused because I could but won't; now is different, I can't even if I wanted to.

For the first time in my life, I'm willing to bring someone back to life but can't.

A single tear slid down before I can control it and I fell on my knees, in front of Aph.

Shad gasped at the sight of dead Aaron while Laurence, silently, cried.

He turned away but I can see the tears sliding down.

"Heal him..." Aph whispered.

I took the jar away from her, the flower seemed pretty okay to me but the holder...

I hugged her, as tight as I can, just to assure her for a second but-

"Why aren't you starting?!" She demanded in my hold, "The longer we wait, the more time it takes! Begin!"

She pushed herself out of my hold, looking me straight in the eyes.

Her tears were still fresh on her cheeks but her eyes were burning with hope. Just how? How is that even possible? And how am I able to tell her?

I knew this was a huge mistake, Aph won't be able to handle this, it's too much for her but I let myself get tricked with false expectation... What have I done?

"Aph," I managed to say without breaking down, "There's no replacing for what you've lost." I whispered.

"No!" She denied, "No, there's got to be a way to bring him back. You said you'll do that to me if I had the flower right?! Why can't it work on him?" She demanded.

"If you would have had to die, then I would have the matron relic back so I can heal you but..." I broke off, saving myself from the breakdown I was about to have.

Aphmau broke from my hold, standing up and walking to Aaron.

She stood in front of him, I couldn't tell from my position but, it looks like she was looking down at him.

"You went..." She whispered, "but it's not the end."

(Now guys remember this part Cause I have an announcement to proclaim later.)

She used the back of her hand to wipe the tear and sat beside him.

"What is she doing?" Shad said beside me.

He wrapped his arms around my shoulder, letting me rest at his chest.

"I don't know..." I breathed.

"Aph! What are you doing?!" Laurence said as he approached.

He sat down beside her; she didn't look at him instead, her gaze was strictly fixed on dead Aaron.

"He's not coming back." He said coldly.

"Laurence!" I shrieked.

How dare he?! That's no way to tell someone that their love ones is gone!
