The exam was not easy.  Some pages were complex math problems or comprehensive riddles while others made absolutely no sense.  He remembered one question asked him to draw his dream house and family and then draw their demise.  Who even thinks that, he asked himself.  But all that Caspian Gonzalez knew was that he had to pass this test.  Everything revolving around this mysterious place and this bizarre test just gave him a feeling inside, er, more like awoke a feeling inside of him.  It had been there all his life, but silent, dormant.  Just being here opened up his chest and it was like he saw life in a whole new perspective.  Brakebills was that feeling inside him.

After the exam he was moved to a single classroom with only three chairs, each filled with odd older adults.  Caspian was immediately nervous and fiddled with his hands behind his back, "Hello" he said.  The three observers said nothing.  After a long awkward moment had passed they said he was done and should go wait outside until someone collected him.  He thanked his audience and left the room.  Nothing had happened except unspoken judgement between him and those creepy judges.  As Caspian waited, a girl his age sat next to him with an appalling look on her face and her small chocolate hands were shaking on the armrests.  Did the judges accept her performance, or did they verbally discuss how horrible she was and how she would never be accepted anywhere in life?  Well that's what he thought.  He gulped and turned towards her, "Um hey, what happened in there?  I did nothing and they just told me to wait out here."  It took a while for her to recognize that he said something, but when she did she jumped, "I-i-i...i did something crazy..." her face was full of confusion and something told Caspian that the only reason this girl was telling him this was because the situation was so peculiar.  "I- I made everything in the room... just float."  Caspian was confused and scrunched his eyebrows until the two ends touched.  "What do you mean?"  She laughed and covered her mouth, completely changing her emotional state.  "It was like there was no more gravity in the room and we all just floated above the ground and-and I had this feeling inside!  It was like...like I've been seeing only one color all my life and now, now I can see the whole fucking rainbow." She had gotten up during the middle of her monologue and whispered the last part really close to his ear.  She was ecstatic now and couldn't sit down.  He had never been more confused in his life and believed this whole place, the exam and individual evaluation was a test to see if you belong in an asylum.  But how she described what she felt, how he felt, just made things a teeny tiny bit less confusing.  A red head woman with purple eye shadow came for Caspian, "Well, bye.  But thanks for telling me...you know."  The girl just smiled and finally sat back down, already re-imagining the moment of pure euphoria she had just moments ago.
