The Deans office was rather small, but full of hundreds of trinkets and globes that made the room intriguing.  Caspian sat down and greeted the dean, "Hello Caspian, I'm so happy you had the opportunity to come and take the preliminary exam.  Very few have had this chance."  Caspian blushed and nodded his head, he was starting to feel proud and special to be here, at Brakebills.  "However, you have failed to express the adequate aptitude for magic even though you passed the exam."  Caspian's smile faded and his soul was crushed, "What do you mean?  Those people didn't even tell me what to do!  All they did was just look at me!  And-and what do you mean magic?"  A million thoughts rushed through his head and he needed a million answers.  Then fear and panic made a knot in his chest; he was afraid he would loose the feeling he had from being here and now that he had failed, that feeling would return to its dormant state.  "Now now, I know this is overwhelming and utterly confusing to you, but magic is about doing, not being told what to do.  And personally, i don't think you have the talent for it.  You're just not a talented person and according to your records, you've never been talented at anything in your life.  I apologize for the honesty but we can help with the...the pain you are feeling."  Everything Dean Fogg said burned into Caspian's mind and spirit.  It was true, he never played sports and was average in school, he never had any interests in anything in his life.  He was just another boring talent-less person in the world giving nothing back to society.  The bald dean pointed his flat hands at Caspian and did strange formations with them until everything went black.
