Cheryl wakes up early, quickly getting ready and rushing to school so she doesn't have to eat with her parents. She arrives at school, people gaping at her as she exits the cherry red vehicle. She sends everyone an icy glare, flipping her hair over to her left shoulder and strutting into the building. When the principal sends for her during homeroom, she puts on her sad facade, reminding herself of the plan. Principle Weatherbee gives her a tight smile, informing her about the pep assembly. Cheryl restrains herself from rolling her eyes. No one wants to hear her give a speech about her brother and Davina. They don't care about them. They never did. Cheryl enters the gymnasium, standing besides Weatherbee as her fellow classmates enter and find seats. Everyone says the pledge and give a mandatory moment of silence."Thank you for that moment of silence." Cheryl begins, staring at the student body. "Many of you were lucky enough to have known my brother and best friend personally. Each and every one of you meant the world to Jason and Davina. I loved them. Davina was not only my best friend, she was my sister. Jason was, and always will be, my soulmate. So, I speak with the confidence only I could have. Jason and Davina wouldn't want us to spend the year mourning, they would want us to move on with our lives. Which is why I've asked the school board not to cancel the back-to-school semi formal." She pauses as everyone erupts into cheers. "But rather to let us use it as a way to heal, collectively, and celebrate my brother and best friend's too, too short lives on this mortal coil. Thank you all." Cheryl steps away from the microphone, heading to the cafeteria for lunch as the bell rings. She sits with some random people, trying hard not to stab their eyes out with her spork. She turns her head, spotting Betty Cooper and Kevin Keller sitting at a table with the new girl. Cheryl smirks, rising from her seat and marching her way to the group. "Veronica Lodge, I heard whisperings." She greets once approaching the table. "I'm Cheryl Blossom, may I sit? Betty, would you mind?" Betty scoots over, making room for the red head to sit. "So, what are you three hens gossiping about?"
"Extracurricular." Veronica tells her. "Weatherbee wants me to sign up for a few."
"Cheerleading, you must. I'm senior captain of the River Vixens."
"Is cheerleading still a thing?" Kevin asks her. Cheryl's gaze snaps to him, eyes hardening at his question.
"Is being the gay best friend still a thing?" She hisses at him.
"I'm in." Veronica says, agreeing to try out. "Betty, you're trying out, too." Cheryl suppresses a groan. How many annoying people must I deal with today?
"Of course, anyone's welcome to try out." Cheryl forces a smile. "But Betty's already got so much on her plate right now and being a Vixen is kind of a full-time thing. But open to follow me on Twitter and I'll do the same. My handle is @cherylbombshell." She gives a little wave, turning on her heel and walking away. The rest of the day drags on. And after reluctantly letting Veronica and Betty on the squad, all Cheryl wants to do is lay on her bed. With the dance the next night, Cheryl quickly picks out a dress before falling into a deep sleep.
Sorry for the wait. My classes have been busy and it's been a stressful week.
