The sun made it's way through the hotel curtains of Beca's room. Slowly the small brunette woke up and became more aware of sounds around her. One being a sound of suitcase zippers. The girl slowly made her way out of bed to find her bestfriend packing up.
"Amy?" Beca yawned as she rubbed her eye.
"Morning sunshine!" The cheery Australian announced.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Beca asked. She sat up and looked around. Taking in the familiar hotel room surroundings. She then placed her attention back to her friend, who was frantically packing her bags.
"I am packing up? What are you doing?" She asked as if Beca was clueless.
Beca groaned and got out of the bed. Her feet hit the wooden floor, sending goosebumps up her body. She ignored the question from the Australian to just go to the bathroom.
"Beca! Are you packed?!" Amy yelled as her friend walked out of her room. The girl placed bags on the hotel cart and took a sip from her coffee. The cart was silver and now packed on by all of Amy's belongings. For a short trip, she packed over 5 suitcases. In her words 'You never know the weather, sexiness, meal, or anything else' .
"What do you mean by that? I'm not leaving LA yet" Beca asked as she walked out of her room. She pushed the back of her earring tightly so it wouldn't fall out. She saw the cart and looked back at Amy.
"I didn't tell you?" Amy chuckled nervously. She hid behind her coffee cup, chugging it nervously.
"No. You didn't, what's going on?" Beca asked. Her hands placed on her hips as her stance leaned to the left.
"Well, I found this guy. He has a place and it's closer to the studio. So I was like, oh my friend you know, producer and well, here we are now. Checked out of the hotel and moving in to his place-"
"Amy!" Beca yelled. She hated when Amy did this. That's why they stopped vacationing together. It was always this situation because Amy didn't want to leave Beca out. She meant well, just never thought it out well.
"Trust me!" Amy yelled back. Both of them started having the same argument that they always had. Finally, Beca just gave in and started packing up.
"I hate when you do this, you know that Amy" Beca grumbled as she threw clothes into her suitcase. Old flannels she wore, some tshirts, pairs upon pairs of black skinny jeans, also boxers to sleep in was her attire. She walked out into the main room to throw her suitcase on the cart. Her bag that carried her laptop slung over her shoulder.
"Beca, this is Drake" Amy introduced. Drake was about 6 foot, he was built in muscle, clothes were too tight, definitely Amy's type.
"Hey" Drake said as he pushed the cart out of the room. Amy followed him like a lost puppy. Beca just sighed and tagged along.
Beca knew Amy meant well, but she hated it. She was going to live with a stranger basically. As she walked through the halls of the hotel and into the elevator, she couldn't help but to feel anger. Usually she'd let it go, but this time was different. She had a job this time. Beca had something to focus on. For all they knew, he could live in a frat house.
They got down to the lobby where two other guys sat in chairs that were in front of the tv. They both looked like assholes.
"Girls this is James and Troy" Drake introduced. Both boys looked over and got up.
"Hello! I'm Amy, this is Beca. She doesn't talk so, don't try" Amy laughed as the guys did too.
All three walked out of the building and too the black SUV. Beca sat in the back between the two guys as Drake and Amy sat up front. The car pulled off and joined the busy LA traffic.
Beca looked out the window as they passed buildings, cars, trees, and people. Thoughts raced through her mind when her phone vibrated.
Chloe: Hey, it's Chloe.
Beca felt that familiar beat skip in her heart. Mentally she cursed herself out for it. It was just Chloe. That was the issue though, it was Chloe.Beca: Hey. What's up?
Chloe: I was wondering if you had that song?
Beca: Didn't I send it to you?
Chloe: No, I havent gotten anything Becs'
Beca: How many times did that take you to write "Becs" to beat autocorrect?
Chloe: Shut up.
Do you have it?Beca sighed as the car pulled up to a house. They all unloaded out of the car. It was in the middle of a suburban area. Kids were running around outside, cars only went by a couple times. Beca was shocked. She didn't expect this at all.
"I got my bags" She told Drake and grabbed her own stuff. She had always been protective over her equipment. It wasn't a surprise about it. They all walked up the pathway onto the porch. The porch was a rustic old white wood. It had some chairs, a table, and empty beer cans and chip bags. The welcome mat was old and obviously worn out. The door was a dark black. Drake opened it and let everyone in.
The inside was like a frat house. Pizza boxes were laying around, empty soda and beer cans/bottles, the radio played some rap music softly. Beca hated it already. Her phone vibrated again with Chloe.
Chloe: Beca?
Weren't we going to explore LA today?Beca: Sorry, sorry. Amy moved us to her brand new boyfriend's. Some frat house
Chloe: Oh my god. That's great. I can't stop laughing.
Beca: Oh yeah, sooooo funny. Fuck off
Chloe: Awe, is someone a little cranky?
Beca: Chloe. Shut. Up.
Chloe: Never.
Anyway, meet for coffee tomorrow?Beca: Can't. Jesse and I are hanging out before I go over to the studio.
Chloe: Oh, thing is we have another day off tomorrow. So don't worry about it. I'll see you next week. Bye.
With that, Beca knew Chloe was pissed off.
