"Where do you have in mind?" Hani asked, while walking side by side, earning a look by the people they passed.
"That bakery across the street. They have the best cronuts" he smiles, the thought of soft, crumbly buttery cronuts make him excited
"Ah~~~i know that place" she nodded
"Really? Great! I've been there last week, it was so good. I haven't try the other pastry." They started to cross the road. Chen unknowingly, put his hand softly at her back as they cross the road. After safely across the road, Chen realized his hand still on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry. It's a habit" he smiled shyly
"Hmm? What is it? What habit?" Hani asked in confused. She didn't realize Chen's hand around her shoulder earlier.
"Huh? Oh...nothing" he grinned.
They arrived at the bakery, Chen open the door for them and let her in first.
The smell of fresh baked pastries filled the cute little cafe. The owner greet them.
"Welcome. How are you? Are you ready to order?" The handsome bakery owner smiles at them
"I'll have 2 cronuts and a latte. What do you want, Hani -shi?" Chen looked at her staring at the display
"I'll have the breakfast toast with egg." She said to the owner. He smiles
"Drinks? The usual?" He asked her.
"Yes, please. Thank you"
"Alright, go take a seat."
"Are you a regular?" Chen asked as they sat down at the table, almost at the back at the cafe.
"Yeah, the owner is my bestfriend's boyfriend. I've been coming here since the opening" she said and took out her notepad and pen. Chen do the same too
"Ah, I see. So what is your usual?"
"Nothing special. Just today's juice. They have different juice everyday. And today it's...tomato juice." She said as the owner come and place the juice infront of her and all of their orders.
"Thank you, JJ. Hm? What is this? I don't think we order this" she looked at the fresh cut of mangoes, kiwi, and korean melon nicely on a plate.
"It's on the house since this is the first time you bring a guy here with you" JJ smiles, look at both of them.
"Hi, I'm Kim Jongdae. Hani's partner for our assignment and classmate" Chen extend his hand to the already grinning JJ.
"Hi, I'm Jongjae. But just call me JJ, everybody does. And I know who you are. Way to go, Hani." He said almost whispering and earn a glare from Hani. JJ just laugh slightly
"Stop it, JJ. And don't tell Sena. She'll freak out. I'm gonna tell her myself" She said, a blush appear on her cheeks
"Alright. Looks like you have something important to do. I'll leave you guys alone" He winked at them. Hani let out a sigh.
"Are you okay?" Chen asked
"Yeah....ok. lets eat first and then we'll discuss" Hani suggest. With that, they eat and Hani would stealing a glance at her notes.
"Is it nice?" Chen asked while looked at her plate
"Yup, do...do you want a bit?" Hani asked hesitantly
"Really?! Thank you. Than, i will cut it a bit" He then took a bite and nodded
"It'a good, very good. No wonder you become a regular here. I should bring kyungsoo here sometimes" he said casually.
At the mention of d.o's name, make Hani look up to his face and her eyes become big but quickly snap out of it and drink her juice. Chen doesn't seems to noticed that.
So, after their breakfast they started their discussion. The discussion went very well. Chen did prepare for it. He brought a few research paper regarding his ideas. Hani was satisfied that she can't help but to smiles widely. Just the thought of finished this assignment already make her happy.
"Are you that happy we had a good discussion?" Chen asked, amused to see her smiled happily
"Of course. Aren't you? It's an interestong topic that we are gonna present. I have so many things on my mind, can't wait to start this" She reply, cleaning the table with their stuffs lying on it
"So, an A is already on our hands?" He said
"Too early to say but let's just do our best, okay. Today is not bad at all, jongdae-shi. Let's go?" She up on her feet, go to the counter and pay for their food
"Hani-shi. It's on me." He quickly open his wallet.
"It's fine. I already pay for it. You can pay next time" Hani said
"Ahh, but it's so embarassing to have a girl pay for it and it's our first date. I should be pay for it" Chen sighed. Hani laughed
"It's fine, Jongdae-shi. And it's not a date~~~a study related date" Hani corrected him while they were walking out of the cafe
"It still a date..." Chen pouted a little.
"There'll always be another day." She said.
They were walking back inside the campus~~~
