CHAPTER 1
Frank's POV
Finally it's summer, thank God! Lessons are over for three beautiful months!
I have waited so long for summer to arrive. I could finally go out with my friends without worrying about being early at home. No worrying about exams or homeworks, or about the teachers grouning me every single day. Perfect life now! Everything seemed perfect untill mom told me about us spendig the whole summer in my grandparent's house. In the village. What? I couldn't go out with my friends?! What a shitty summer! I have been waiting so long for this moment to come and my parents have fucked up everything.
I had to pack my luggage and say goodbye to my friends.
At first I thought about staying home. I was 18 so I could stay home by myself. But my thoughts about this summer and staying at home completely changed. I heard my mom say that my cousin, Emily, was going to stay the whole summer at the village, too. She was 17 years old now. The last time I saw Emily was about 3 years ago. She moved to England when she was fourteen, and she came back this summer.
I was so excited after mom told me about Emily coming too. She wasn't just my cousin. She was my soulmate. My best friend. We have been like brother and sister for our whole lifes. And there was something else that made Emily so special. I have been in love with her since I had memory. Yes, in love with my cousin. I knew nothing will happen between us. We were cousins! And I guessed she doesn't feel the same way. But I was so excited about this. I couldn't wait to see Emily and hug her and never let her go. It's been three years... She must be so beautiful now.
I still remember her. She has hazel eyes and long wavy black hair. She was a little bit pale, but not as much as my friend Gerard. She had more or less red lips. She wasn't very tall. She wasn't taller than me, and I gotta to say I am not very tall.. She was thin and... Well. She was fit. I feel bad to think about my cousin this way but I love her and she is very attractive so...
On our way to the village I couldn't stop thinking about her, about this summer and about the things we were going to do. I couldn't wait to arrive there.
*After the trip*
Mom woke me up. I guess we were in Tenessee now. As I opened my eyes I saw my grandparent's house. It was very big. I stepped out of the car and greeted my grandparent's.
"Frank!" said my grandma hugging me
"Hello, granny!"
"You are a man now" she said smiling and touching my arms
I giggled
"He may seem to be a man. But mentally he is still 10 years old" said mom with a laugh
I rolled my eyes and smiled.
"Hello Frank!" greeted my grandfather
"Hey, grandpa!"
"How are you?"
"Good, good. You?"
"Fine, too" he said hugging me and palming my back.
"Frank, want me to head you to your bedroom?" asked grandma
"I already know it" I said with a smile
She nodded and smiled at me. I took my big suitcase and went upstairs to my bedroom.
My grandparents had a very big house. And we had a bedroom. I used to share mine with two of my cousins. Emily shared it too. But this time we wouldn't be sharing as we were the only ones staying. We both were only childs.
I undid my luggage and tidied all up. Wow, it took me an hour to set all my stuff.
After setting my room, I went to Emily's room. I watched the empty room and smiled. It had one bed now. It also had all the furniture, but it was empty. I remember all the carzy things we lived here. All the games we played. How we would all open our christmas presents and celebrating our birthdays here when we were only kids. I miss it. I miss those moments. After Emily leaving America, I still came here when it was some of my little cousin's birthday or at christmas. But it wasn't the same without Emily. I missed her. So, so much. I stood still, watching the empty bedroom when I heard a car parking next to the house. Mom came upstairs and took my hand.
"What's going on, mom?" I asked
"C'mon! Your cousin's here"
All my family knew about our perfect relationship and how much we loved each other. And still did. What they didn't know was that I was actually in love with Emily. And neither did Emily.
"What if she doesn't like me? What if she has changed a lot?"
"What do you mean, honey?" asked my mom
"Mabye she isn't the same. Mabye she has changed and I have lost my best friend. She isn't just a cousin to me" I said
"I know, honey"
"Do you think everything will stilk be the same? Mabye she doesn't like me."
"Frank, she will" My mom said smiling.
I was worried. I changed a lot. I think I was more handsome and hot... But she won't give a shit about it. I used to be what my mom called "a normal boy". Now I wasn't that "normal boy". I changed my style completely. I seemed more... Punk rock? My likes changed to. I used to have a horrible taste in music. But my personality hasn't changed that much. And the most important thing, my love to her didn't change. I still loved her with all my heart.
I headed to the main door and I saw my cousin. My whole life. Emily.
