This story is based off the manga and starts off on volume 12
Inuyasha and Kagome woke up the next morning and carried on with their journey. As they were walking they stumbled upon a crowd of villagers. The two made their way towards the villagers and overheard them talking to one another. "Do you truly believe....it's Aimi's or Jinenji's doing?'' one of the villagers asked another.
"Of course! It has to be one of them. Maybe even both of them!", the other villager replied back. Kagome and Inuyasha hid in a nearby bush to try to hear the situation better.
"We have to put an end to these monsters then," the third villager exclaimed, anger filling his facial features.
"B-but what can we do?" the fourth villager questioned. "Aye...Even if we gathered all the townsfolk as a single force...,"
"Aye...," the fifth one agreed. Inuyasha had enough of just listening and decided to step in.
"This "Jinenji" and "Aimi" or whoever-"
"Is he a demon?" the villagers whispered. "W-who are you!? Another demon?" Kagome then spoke up and explained that they had just come to get some medicinal plants. The villagers told them that the medical plants resigned at Jinenji's and his mother's field outside their village. The villagers then explained what's been happening to the villagers lately with all the killings and how they suspect Aimi, a dog demon, and Jinenji, a half-demon are the cause of these events.
After explaining everything the group of villagers took Inuyasha and Kagome to Jinenji's field. Once they arrived close to the field everyone saw Jinenji tending to the field. Inuyasha went up to Jinenji and began to talk to him. The half dog demon noticed real quick that Jinenji wasn't someone who could kill innocent people.
Without warning, the villagers began to throw nearby rocks at Jinenji while yelling at him. Jinenji cried for his mom and began to run towards the little house that was in front of the field. Inuyasha tried to stop him but it was too late. Soon an elderly woman and young girl came rushing towards everyone. The young girl had long white hair, golden yellow orbs, and a small magenta mark on her cheek.
The elderly woman takes a medium sized log and smashes it against Inuyasha's head. "You thieves! You dare come and raid our field!" The villagers called Inuyasha a weakling and fled.
"Hey, old hag! What's with hitting me with the log?!" Inuyasha snapped. The young girl who ran out with the woman stepped between them and glared at Inuyasha.
"If I were you, I'd show some respect, you mutt."
"What did you just call me?!" Inuyasha took out his tetsusaiga and was about to get into battle position. The young girl gave him a blank stare. 'This mutt must be stupid, thinking he could intimidate me with his sword.' she thought to herself.
"Sit boy," Kagome said, causing the beads around Inuyasha's neck to force him to submit to the command. "Sorry about Inuyasha. He's usually thick-headed but you did call him a mutt. Could you two please explain what's going on?"
"I don't know what lies those villagers have told you but neither my son nor Aimi has done anything wrong to anyone in the village." the elderly woman exclaimed.
"They only taunt us because Jinenji's a half demon and I'm a full demon." the young girl known as Aimi added on. After that, the elderly woman invited Kagome and Inuyasha into the house and explained the situation in more detail. Once the explanation was finished Aimi helped Kagome find the plants she needed.
On their way back they crossed paths with the villagers from earlier. Inuyasha had told them that he would help them catch the real culprit of these killings and Kagome returned to Jinenji's field. At the field, Kagome helped out and began to get both Jinenji and Aimi to warm up to her.
Soon night fell and while Kagome and the elderly woman were asleep both Aimi and Jinenji sensed the villagers coming towards the fields. "Jinenji, leave them to me. Just stay with your mother and Kagome." Aimi said before going outside.
"Now, what do you fools think you're doing here?" she questioned, sending them a harsh glare.
"We know you and that half-demon are the ones killing the people in our village! It's time for you monsters to die!" The large mass of villagers began throwing large rocks at Aimi. She swiftly dodged the majority of the rocks but a certain rigid stone stabbed into her thigh. Aimi winced in pain as they continue to throw rocks at her.
Kagome and the elderly woman rushed out of the house. "Stop it!" Kagome cried. The villagers threw rocks at the elderly woman and they hit her head. "Why?" Kagome asked.
"Get out of the way, girl!" the villagers shouted. "Why do you defend those monsters?!"
"Because Jinenji and Aimi would never kill anyone! If you spent any time with them at all, you'd know that! They're kind and gentle people!" The villages accused Kagome of having a demon's soul and started throwing fire wielding spears at the house.
Suddenly the killer demon appeared and started to attack the villagers. Kagome took out her bow and arrow and aimed it at the demon. "Kagome be careful." Aimi warned. The young mortal girl gave her a nod before shooting her arrow. The arrow hit the demon and for a moment it seemed it was all over until the demon's long tail slammed into Kagome, forcing her to the ground. "Kagome!" Aimi cried, trying to move but couldn't due to her wound.
Just as the demon was about to deliver his final blow on Kagome, Jinenji forced his arm straight through the demon's mouth. Soon Inuyasha arrives and wants to help Jinenji but the elderly woman said that this is a battle Jinenji must battle alone. Jinenji uses all his strength to bear hug the demon and then rips off its head.
After the demon was killed the villagers apologized to everyone. When morning hit Kagome and Inuyasha were just about to leave when Aimi ran towards them."Aimi?" Kagome questioned.
"I want to join you guys." the white haired girl said, giving them a dead serious look.
"Why should we you come with us? It's not like you'll be able to do anything. You're completely useless." Inuyasha stated, starting to walk away. Aimi glared daggers at the half-demon and used her position claws to deteriorate the ground right in front of him.
"I'd be careful if I were you, mutt. I only got injured last night because I didn't want to hurt those villagers. I have no issue with hurting you if you continue to bare your fangs at me." Aimi said in her usual monotone voice.
Kagome clapped her hands together. "Then it's decided. Aimi will be joining us." Inuyasha just sweat dropped and tsked.
"Whatever."
