As best friends, Elaina and Delia were inseparable. They were always spending time together. Doing everything together if they could. Never one without the other. Almost like they were stuck like glue. And always if you saw one of them, you'd know that the other would be just around the corner.

Of course, there would be the rare moments where they would be alone. Sick days, dentist appointments, family gatherings and what not. Those were inevitable. If it were up to them though, that wouldn't be the case. You'd think that by spending so much time together that their personalities would be so alike. That however is not the case at all.

These two had personalities that were total complete opposites of each other. In fact, the people that knew them often questioned their friendship. But then again being neighbours and practically growing up together did play a big part in that.

Delia was the type of girl who believed in love like it was a superstition. Movies like A Walk To Remember were basically considered her bible. She enjoyed anything and everything in the genre of romance from books to movies and even music.
Her all-time favourite author is Nicholas Sparks. No surprise there. She has probably collected every single book that he wrote and the book to movie adaptions, which she also collected for her ever growing movie collection, were definitely an added bonus, the icing to the cake. She lived and breathed for love.

Matchmaking was her hobby and almost like her second skin. Her full time job if you will. Thus, with that being said she definitely had a knack for it. Which earned her the title of being Carlton High's very own cupid. Making her the go-to for everyone and anyone who needed relationship advice. Not only girls came up to her but also guys. It also helped that she was blessed in the looks department. With her dark brown hair and blue eyes. It was almost like her charm was irrestible to everyone that laid eyes on her.

Whereas, Elaina on the other hand. She didn't believe in love. She just couldn't find it in herself to believe as love was not something that appealed to her. In other words, you could say that it was just not her cup of tea.

The idea of giving herself to someone and letting them have control on her emotions or feelings without knowing if it was gonna be long lasting definitely didn't give her a thrill like how others do. It just didn't seem as fun or made sense to her. In her opinion, love belongs to movies, tv shows and books. Love to her seemed fictional because it was close to non existent in real life. Not to mention, it just wasn't the same in reality. Her life and past experiences being a prime example of that.

So to put in words, she just simply stayed away from love. Avoiding it at all costs if possible. She rather preferred to read books, binge on TV shows and listen to music instead of dating, flirting and just socializing in general. Besides, it wasn't like she was socially awkward or anything but she just didn't interest herself in things that didn't matter to her. So she just chose to save herself from the trouble of mixing with people that she honestly couldn't really be bothered to care about. Some people may take it the wrong way as her being standoff-ish or looking down on others but to her it was just a way of expressing her choice. A choice of choosing to make genuine and real friendships rather than having fake friendships with all the backstabbing and the side of drama that comes with it. As always, doing what Elaina does best. Avoiding things that are messy and time consuming.

Friday movie nights were a tradition for the pair of best friends ever since they were little kids. Elaina's parents would drop her off at Delia's house to be babysat by Delia's sister while they went off on their little dates.

Of course, that just made the girls grow even closer. Delia's sister would always pop a movie in for them to enjoy, either Disney classics or something animated. Delia's sister always played fair too letting them take turns to choose a movie every alternative week. Somewhere along the way they actually got used to it and it became a routine growing up, kid or no kid.

So it was no surprise when Delia showed up at Elaina's doorstep and demanded on having an impromptu movie marathon to celebrate the end of their junior year. This week though was Delia's turn to pick which Elaina sometimes if not always hated because Delia was too indecisive which resulted to almost always ending up with 'A Walk To Remember'. The movie was not too bad considering it was a romance movie which Elaina disliked but it was definitely something when you've watched it one-too-many times.

What she didn't expect was that from this moment onwards, her life would be turned upside down.
