The Deep Blue Curse

Chapter 4

Later that evening serena got ready and went to the kitchen to wait.

"And where are you going all dressed up?" mom asked.

"I'm going to a party and don't worry there will be no alcohol and her parents will be there." serena explained.

"I have a friend coming to pick me up." she said.

"Okay don't be out past twelve though." her mom said.

Then there was a honk outside.

"He is here bye mom love you." she gave her mom a quick kiss on the cheek and left.

He had a grey chevy camaro. I got in and said "hey."

"Hey you ready?" he asked.

"Yep." i said then we left it was a ten minute drive to chloe's place. It was a quiet drive. When we got there we were greeted by chloe's parents her mom was tall and slender with blond hair. Her dad was on the slender side also but he had brown hair.

The music was really loud there were lots of people. Sasha was the first to find me.

"Serena you came come dance with me." she grabbed my arm and dragged me to the dance floor. Before she dragged me off i thought i heard carson say he was going to get us some drinks. Sasha was full of energy dancing all over the place.

She tried to tell me something but the music was too loud and i couldn't read her lips. So i just nodded at what she said. I knew some of the songs but some i didn't but i still danced along. It seemed like forever until carson came back with drinks.

Ten minutes later carson came back with two plastic red cups with some clear liquid in it. He handed one to me.

"Do you want to go find somewhere quiet?" he yelled because the music was loud. He must have noticed how uncomfortable i was.

"Yeah" i yelled back.

As we walked further away from the crowd the music faded and i could hear now. We were on the second floor it looked like it was off limits.

"Is this part of the house off limits?" serena asked.

"Yeah for all other people but us her closest friends she allows." he explained to serena.

We went into one of the rooms on the second floor and he brought me over to the balcony. You could see miles of lights it was beautiful.

"So what do you think of the party?" he asked.

"Other than being partially deaf it's okay i guess." serena told him.

We sat there in silence for a few minutes.

"The real reason i brought you here was so i could learn more about you." he finally said breaking the silence.

"Okay ask away." serena said.

"Um so what is your family like?"he asked

"I have a brother who is a freshman at sparks high. My mom is a part time waitress and part time mom. And my dad is an agent so he is gone a lot. What about you." serena said.

"Oh uh my parents died in a hurricane when i was eleven, and i live with my aunt karen now." he said.

"Oh i'm sorry my grandmother died from a heart attack three years ago. She lived here i would come here almost every summer." serena said.

"Oh then i'm sorry too." he said

"Thanks." i said then smiled to reject the hurt.

"So what do you like to do for fun other than drawing?" he asked
