Chapter 4

A week passes and I declare that I never want to leave. It's so nice and relaxing here. I have nothing to worry about really except for a few work things but they gave me this week off so I'm going to try to enjoy it.

My family woke up early, probably a little after 6am and we all planned to go to this museum and adventure/amusement park that my parents got season passes for this summer. But I lied to my parents and told them that I was sick and couldn't go.

Matt of course gave me a look but my parents and other siblings understood and they all left. They'll be gone the whole day so I'm glad I have time to myself for the first time in a while.

It's about 7am now and I've already taken my morning jog and showered. I'm dressed for the day in jean shorts and a grey v-neck shirt and flip flops. I don't plan to do anything really but you never know what my day could lead to.

I'm laying on my bed and searching the web on my laptop when I hear my stomach growl for the 100th time in the past half hour. I guess I should get some breakfast, I haven't eaten yet today.

When I finally reach the buffet I grab a plate and walk down the many tables of food. There's so much to choose from and I don't know what I should get. I'm pretty hungry but I don't want to eat too much.

I decide to splurge and eat whatever I want. I mean I did run this morning so I can eat a lot right now. I put some eggs, toast, and bacon and a piece of sausage and some fruit on my plate and I grab a bottle of water and some coffee to eat.

Sitting at a table by myself I start stuffing my face. I look around and people watch as I eat my eggs. I look to my left because I hear laughter and I see Harry standing there laughing and grabbing food from the buffet. Before I look away he catches me looking at him and his smile grows wider. I look to my left and right again then I turn my attention back to my food.

"Eating all by yourself I see." Harry says standing in front of me with his plate full of food. "Yeah." I say not really sure why he came up to me. "Mind if I join?" He asks setting his plate down and pulling the chair out. "Sure." I say as he sits down.

"What happened to you and the bonfire? I didn't see you there." He says eating his food. "I decided not to go." I say recalling that day. "Hmm." He says shoving more food in his mouth.

"Well what are you doing tonight?" He asks me as I watch him eat. "Probably hanging out with my family." I tell him. "Why don't you hang out with me?" He asks looking at me now.

"What did you have in mind?" I ask intrigued about him asking me. "Well there's a mini golf course that's sort of fun. We could also get some frozen yogurt after that." He says eating the rest of his food.

"That sounds like a good time." I say interested in having some fun tonight. "Okay how about you meet me at the front desk tonight at 7 and we can get the fun started." He says drinking the rest of his drink. "Sounds good." I say as he stands up.

"Alright see you then. Don't bail this time." He says smiling and walking away. I sit there by myself and finish my food. I'm not sure why I agreed to hang out with Harry tonight but I mean nothing bad could happen. It'll probably be fun.

......

My family spends the whole day at the amusement park and they won't be back until later tonight. It's about to be 7 and I should be meeting Harry by the front desk. I stay in the same clothes I've been wearing all day.

I brush my hair and my teeth and make sure I look descent. I grab my phone and put some money in my pocket just incase then I make my way down to the front desk.

When I get down there Harry is already there. He's sitting on the counter and laughing with the person behind it. I walk up to him and Harry smiles and hops off the counter.

"You're a minute late." he says shaking his head playfully. "Sorry there was traffic in the elevator." I say joking. "Take the steps next time then. Exercise is everything." He says and I roll my eyes. "Let's go." Harry says walking in front of me towards the front doors.

We arrive at the mini golf place which is at the retreat and only about a five minute walk. Harry refuses to let me pay for the mini golf game so I gave in and let him pay.

"At each hole we have to tell each other something about ourselves." He says at the first one. "Okay." I say. His idea seems interesting.

"Okay first one. I'm from England." He says after he gets his ball in the hole. "Okay, I'm from North Carolina." I tell him.

At the second hole Harry tells me why he moved here and I told him about my job. At the second hole he tells me about how he works here and I told him how I run almost everyday. The rest of the course we tell each other little things and I am getting to know him better.

"Well that was fun." He says as we return our golf clubs. "Just because you won." I tell him. "Yeah that's true. And because I got you to tell me stuff about you." He tells me and I smile because I'm glad I got to know stuff about him too.

"Ice cream time?" He says sounding like a little kid. "Yeah let's get ice cream." I say realizing how hot I am.

We get back to the buffet at the resort and Harry and I make our own sundaes. Both of ours are piled to the top of the bowl. "This is so good." I say taking the first bite of ice cream. "Mine is better." He tells me taking a bite if his. "Not true." I say. "Yes it is." He says taking another bite of his. "Mine is way better." I say looking at his which is loaded with sugary candy.

Harry gives me a look and digs his spoon into my bowl. "Hey!" I say giving him a look. He laughs and I take a bite of his too. "Yeah maybe yours is better." He says laughing. "I know it is." I say.

When we are finished eating we was back to the hotel and he walks me up to my room. "I had fun tonight." He says leaning against the door. "I did too." I say getting my room key out of my pocket. "We should do it again sometime." He says running his fingers through his hair. "Yeah but I'll win next time." I say and he laughs. "I'll take you to a nice restaurant next time." He says looking at me up and down. "Sounds good." I say smiling at him.

"It's late you should go to bed." He says yawning. "You should too." I say unlocking my door. "I know. I'll see you tomorrow or something." He says smiling at me. "Okay. Goodnight." I say stepping into the door way. "Goodnight." He says smiling and walking away.

I close my door and I can't stop smiling for some reason. Tonight was a lot more fun then I expected it to be. It's always fun and exciting getting to know a new person.

I change into my pajamas and do what I need to do to get ready for bed. When I finish brushing my teeth I lay in my bed and finish up some work and I try to stay awake for my family to come back so I can hear about their day but my eyes begin to get heavy. But as they start to close I hear a knock at my door.
