My fast pace walk turns into a walk as I make my way back to my room. I quickly unlock my door and slam it shut. I haven't moved my eyes from my phone. I turn it off and toss it to the side of the room. Sitting on my bed all I can do is try to breathe and stare at the wall.
Minutes go by and a headache has already formed. "This can't be happening." I say to myself. It's getting late and my family should be getting back soon. They can't see me like this. I think as tears start to form in my eyes. I can't cry.
I grab pajamas and take a hot shower. I try to calm myself down and I'm glad it works a little. I'm not in the shower for long because I don't want too much time to myself, I don't want to think at all.
I change quickly and brush my wet hair. Once I'm finished in the bathroom I enter my room just as my sister unlocks the front door.
"Hey." She says yawning and shutting the door behind her. "Hey." I say. "How was tonight?" I ask her. "It was fun. Dad's too competitive though." I nod in agreement.
She continues to talk to me. I hear her, but I can't comprehend what she's saying. My eye sight becomes blurry and my head starts to pound. My heart beat feels like it's going one hundred miles per hour and my fingers begin to tingle.
"Emily!" I hear my sister yell as I feel my head hit the floor.
---
"Her hands just moved." I hear my mom say. "Em, are you ok?" My dad asks me as I open my eyes. I jump at the sight around me. "Where am I?" I ask looking around. "You had a panic attack or something sweetie. You're in the hospital." My dad answers me.
"Emily said your face was pale when we all got back last night. She said your eyes rolled to the back of your head and you fell. You're lucky you don't have a concussion because me and your father heard you fall from the hall way." My mom tells me squeezing my hand.
"How long do I have to stay here?" I ask my parents. "The doctors said over night." My dad says. "I'll go tell your brothers and sister that you're awake." My mom tells me. I nod and watch her walk out.
My dad looks back down at me. "Is this job of yours stressing you out? If so you need to take a break. Nothing is important enough if this is the result." He tells me. I shake my head, "I'm not stressed out." I tell him. He nods his head as my brother Matt walks in.
My dad gets up and leaves us alone. "What happened Em?" He asks me. I shrug my shoulders. "Cut the crap Emily I know when something's up. This just doesn't happen out of no where." He says sitting down in the chair next to my bed.
"He called." I tell Matt. His face turned dark red and I swear his eyes got ten shades darker. "When? Why? What did he say?" He asks me and I notice his fists are balled up to the side of him. "While you guys were at the game night I guess." I tell him.
"And he said?" I sigh and let him listen to the voicemail he left me. "You should get your number changed. How did he even find your number?" Matt asks me. "I don't know Matt." I tell him rubbing my temples. "Ok well we will talk about this another time. Get some rest. I'll get mom and dad." He tells me as he leans down and kisses me on my head.
"Matt." I say before he exits the room. He turns around, "Don't tell mom and dad he called, ok?" He nods his head and I sigh and close my eyes.
"Emily?" I hear a familiar voice call my name. I open my eyes and I'm surprised to see Harry. "Harry?" I say hoping I wasn't dreaming. "I saw them take you into the ambulance. How are you doing?" He asks me. He's standing in the doorway.
"Come sit down." I tell him pointing to the chair Matt was just sitting in. "I'm ok. They said I had a panic attack for some reason." I tell him. "Was it that phone call you got?" He asks me. I just noticed he had roses in his hand. "No. I'm not really sure what caused it." I tell him. I don't like lying to him.
"Must've been that kiss then." He says and we both laugh. "Yeah that could cause trouble for any girl." I tell him. "Oh, I got these for you." He tells me. "Stupid hospital didn't have any vases. So I'll get you one for them tomorrow." He tells me placing the flowers on the table next to my bed. "Thank you." I say smiling. He really is sweet. "Anytime." He says sitting back down.
We end up talking for almost an hour. Harry is probably one of the most kind and caring person in the world. Just the way he talks and looks at you gives it all away. He also has a great sense of humor which is obviously a plus. But too bad I don't want anything serious. Or anything at all.
"I should get going." He says as I become tired. "Thank you for staying with me." I tell him. "No problem." He says as he leans down to kiss me. "It was just a peck because I didn't want you to have a heart attack this time." He tells me and I can't help but laugh. "I'll come visit you tomorrow then." He says and then leaves the room.
"How are you doing?" My mom comes back in the room. "Pretty tired right now." I say yawning. "I bet. You've had a long day." She says smelling the flowers Harry got me. "He's a nice boy. Very thoughtful." She tells me. "I know." I say smiling.
"They're bringing a cot in here for me to spend the night. Your father took the kids back to the hotel." She says yawning too. "You don't have to stay with me mom." I tell her. "Of course I do. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else tonight." She tells me. "Close your eyes, I see how tired you are." She says and I do. And fall asleep faster than ever.
