Hadley's POV:A few days back...
I never thought this would happen.
But here I am. At my mom's funeral.
I still can't get the image out of my mind. And the sirens are still burned into thought.
My mom's gone.
And its all their fault.
I glare at my own thought as I carry on crying my eyes out.
It was Katie's fault. If she didn't drag me to safety she would be with me too. But Katie was the oldest and she thought it was her job to take care if us.
She got the worst. Besides mom of course.
When she walked out of the hiding spot they found her.
And they-
"Ha-Hadley?" I hear Jacob ask cutting me out of thought.
"Yes?" I ask gently.
"I-I'm scared.." He sobbed.
I pulled him to me and hugged him tight. I picked him up to we could be closer.
He wrapped his arms around my neck as I held him.
Then...'daddy' came over with Carry and shoved her towards me. I could tell he was drunk.
I put Jacob down but held them close to me.
Carry was trembling a bit and Jacob was still shaking from crying.
"What!?" I snapped at him.
He clenched his jaw, "Don't talk to me like that Hadley." He growled.
I glared as he continued, "Now, you will be living with me. We're moving so go pack your bags." When we didn't answer he got mad. "Now." He hissed and I led the kids outside.
We walked towards my car even though the car seats are in the other one.
I walk to 'dad's' car and got the car seats.
I put the seats in my car then put Carry in. After Carry I got Jacob in his.
I hopped in the driver side and sped away.
"H-Hady? Are-are we gonna be ok?" Carry asked.
"Of course. I won't let anyone hurt you." I said reassuring.
"Ok." She sighed.
A little later we were at the house. I quickly got out and walked to Carry.
After I got her in my hip I walked to Jacobs side, unbuckled him and held his hand.
I packed all my stuff up and checked on Carry and Jacob.
I finished up for them and sent them downstairs to eat.
---
About...twenty minutes later 'dad' came barging in.
"Get your stuff we're leaving." He said lowly.
I could hear him go toward the kids and ran there.
He was pulling Carry's hair making her eyes glossy.
She looked at me and I could see red when I saw a tear slide down her face.
I shoved my so called dad away from her and he staggered.
"You little *****!!" He screeched.
He smirked a little and walked toward Jacob making him back up with every step.
When Jacob was cornered I walked to them.
Jacob had fear shining in his eyes and I hated it.
He tried to punch Jacob.
Key word; tried.
I pulled his hand back and twisted it behind him.
When I let go, it was a mistake.
But all anger was gone from his eyes the moment they appeared.
He was looking behind me smugly and I followed his gaze to see...Carry.
"No..." I whispered.
He shoved passed me and toward Carry right as he was about to have her in arms length I caved.
"Stop." I sighed.
He turned around smirking.
"Good. I don't want to hear another peep. Out. Lets go." He said.
I got Carry and Jacob in their car seats in my car and walked to the drivers side.
When I got in Jacob spoke.
"I-I love you sis." Jacob said to me.
"I love you too. Both of you." I say before we start our drive to the airport.
