Draven's POV:
"You have to be my girlfriend." I tell Hadley with a smug look.
"Deal." She says.
My heartbeat picks up and slows down.
There's only two reasons she could have said that. Either she likes me, or she is seriously doubting my skills.
I sign up for the next race, which is in ten minutes.
The 'champion' comes walking up to us, his ego radiating off of him.
"Hey Conner, why did you challenge me? You know your just gonna get your ass whipped." The cocky guy said with a smirk.
I could tell Hadley thought I would attack, because of her doing the action of putting a hand on my bicep.
Doing the action? I sound like a posh guy.
"What do you want." Hadley said in a icy tone.
"Oh, who is this Conner? Have a little girlfriend to fight your battles?" He said.
"Sure does." Hadley says before throwing a swing at the guy, her fist hitting his jaw.
His head whips to the side.
"Conner and Haden." The announcer called.
"That's us, better go win-I mean race. Wait no I don't. Your the one that has to try hard. Not me." The guy said, still cocky, but holding his jaw.
How can he still be that cocky. Hadley got him good.
I get in my car and speed toward the starting line, adrenaline pumping in my veins.
Hadley's POV:
This is crazy! Draven challenged the champion.....for me to be his girlfriend.
I have a good feeling Draven's going to win. And then we'll be...
Nevermimd.
"Go!" The person said and the cars went around the corner at full speed.
They went behind these trees, so you couldn't see them for a while.
They came back and went straight for the finish line.
When my eyes actually came into focus, I saw Draven's car zooming past the finish line, the other car behind him.
